I have the slant R52 from one of the older batches and am wandering if anybody has any input on the difference between them. I have looked at all the videos of Jarrod's, with a lot of fast forwarding. It seems like the blade is still clamped flat, but the curve is actually just the safety bar. I like the larger gap corners on my slant and thought this might suit me, I also want more weight than the aluminium. Thanks

Greetings:
Firstly, the R52 isn't a slant.  The slant is the R53 model, and the flat one is the R51.  I've never tried the R51, as it's reputation as an ultra-mild shaver dissuaded me.  I have tried both the R52 Concave, and the R53 Slant.  While I found the R53 Slant disappointing, the R52 Concave is one of my favorite razors.  It is both remarkably efficient and almost nick-proof, even when using a Feather blade.  So if you are enjoying your R52 Concave, I would not recommend the R53 Slant; it didn't give me a good shave.  The R52 Concave is the only one of the Focus Tritok Razors that I like, and would recommend.  If you would like a little more weight, then consider the R62, which is made from 316L stainless steel.  I have one I would sell you for $125, which is $55 below retail.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply! I am sorry as much as I try, I still can't get the numbering right. I forgot that the R53 is the slant because they consider it the most aggressive, which it isn't. That is the one I have. I actually like it, but it only works with a Kai because of the additional width. I went ahead and ordered the R52 head from Maggards as I had to get the order in so it would ship today for Saturday delivery. Brad is so good about this. I had originally joined DFS in order to buy your R62 that I found through a search. I discovered after joining that I can't even buy anything for 2 weeks. I can understand for selling, but you would think the buyer is taking the bigger gamble. Anyway, it made sense to just get the head since I have a handle and try out the concave first. I am a little concerned about your comments about quality control so I will need to think about it while I try out the Aluminium. I am on the West Coast, south of you.

The R52 concave is also one of my favorite razors after trying many in the past couple years. Smooth and very efficient, and goes on sale from time to time at italianbarber.

I use it most days as it’s foolproof and provides an amazing shave.

Thanks! I wrote a longer reply, but it got deleted. Probably still interested in the Stainless, but not right away.
