I never tried that head style. What is the shave quality like on the SBS?

I have one like that in stainless steel with the bamboo handle.

It's really similar to the Pils. Even though it has an open comb side it's incredibly mild.

That doesn't look like stainless steel on the head. It's probably the metal that Shavecraft heads are made of. Stainless something but a little lighter than steel in my experience.

No telling what will be different though. It could be very different from the one I have. He might have changed the aggressiveness.

I hope the head isn't permanently stuck to the handle though.

Edit: I did a Google search and the one I have is the 2PB. Not an SBS.

A quick pic of the SBS.... Don't know if it's stainless, aluminum or hybrid like their El Jefe.

I'd pass just based on their response to the guy who asked the price.

Yeah, that response was kind of off the mark for me. But Ikon carries that air about them of being above the rest... whether warranted or not, it does not sit well with me.

Definitely not warranted in my estimation.

I think he asked on TSN some time ago about remaking this. Possibly limited edition in brass I think.
There were comments about the base plate being double sided to be able to flip for mild or aggressive. I don't recall where the conversation, if there was much of one, went.

My memory isn't what it used to be.

It looks over engineered from the bottom if it's not double sided. I bet it is.

That's a distinct possibility. They do push design innovation to a fault. It's either hit or miss with them, but I give them credit for their designs good or bad. They don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks. Black sheep of the family in the razor artisan world.....
