Tried all types. Only badgers see daily use. ...YMMV and all that

I really wanted to fall in love with my Simpson Chubby 2 synthetic. It looked very lovely. Sadly, it irritated my face and gave me some of the worst rash each time I used it (3 times total).

Badger and boar do not irritate my face. I don't know if it's due to the prick from the synthetic hairs or maybe I'm allergic. I do have sensitive skin.

After using a variety of boar and badger, nothing high end mind you, I have found myself completely sold on synthetic brushes.
The ease of making consistent quality lather and their affordability are some of the reasons.

I have tried a few but have yet to fall in love head over heels for any. For me I always get that pointy feeling in the knot rather than a soft smoosh against the skin.

You'll have to pry my Simpson Manchurian and Paladin out of my cold, dead hands.

SynBad easily outperforms the above two.

Simpson Manchurians and Paladin’s are gone.

I have found the very recent (2018) synthetics have easily surpassed most badgers in performance. The new 30mm SynBad might be one, if not the, finest brush I’ve ever used.

Is the SynBad similar to the Mother Load from Strike Gold?

Bought this brush after reading your comments. I enjoy an APShave 24mm Tuxedo now.

What do you think about actual Simpsons Synths?

More backbone than the Mother Load. It’s a better knot imo. It’s a perfect combination of the soft Cashmere tips and Tuxedo backbone but fixes the lack of splay the Tuxedo suffers from.

Simpson synths are just ok to me. Loft is too short and scrubby.

That is very interesting, Max.
I find the Chubby 2 synthetics to have the best synthetic fibres, at the moment.
I really enjoy my Chubby 2 synthetics as the knots have 'loosened' and I don't find them to be to scrubby, at all, as I prefer good scrub. Shy
I may be interested in trying the same brush that you mention.

Is there any 'pokey' feel to the tips of the brush? This factor is the principal reason I do not use synthetics and something the Simpsons' fibres don't seem to exhibit.
