I tied my first two badger knots.

They're also going to be the last two I tied myself.

First one I did about a week and a half ago. It's on the left.
The second one I did today. It's on the right in the beehive handle.

I bought the badger hair on Etsy from EM's place.



The first one took me so long to do. Almost 3 hours. It's a great performer, but it's definitely got a face for radio...

The second one took me about 2 hours today and I must say I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I spent a lot of time shaping the knot. I used a shot glass to get the general shape and then tied it. Next I trimmed it quite a bit off the bottom and did a little bit of hand shaping by eye before using epoxy to set the final shape. I epoxied it into the handle.

The hair itself is very nice. Very soft and I made them as dense as I could so, even the one on the left, feels like a champ in use. Not too soft or at all floppy. I didn't detect any scritch or scratch.

The hair came presorted and I didn't notice any hairs out of order until I got involved in the process.
