After much procrastination, and a bit of laziness, I have finally made some inroads into downsizing the den.  There will be a few pictures to follow but I am busting with pride.  My downsized operation consists of:

[1] 30 badger brushes;

[2] 34 Soaps and 2 creams;

[3]  only 12 double edged razors.

The real progress is in the DE razor category.  I went down from 20 to 12.  Surprisingly, some standards such the 38C and 39C and several Ikon razors were retired for now.  I have been thinking about retiring the Ikons for awhile, but I could not forget how excited I was when Greg started the company. Although I still think that they are very good, high quality razors, I think that other artisans have eclipsed them - ATT, Rockwell, RR Wunderbar and now the new adjustable Parker Variant.  I will hold on to them and see if I miss them.

Any way, that's all for now.  Have a great holiday and new year!!

I hear you. I was like that with injectors for quite a few years. I'll bet I had 40+ at one point in time and never shaved with any of them, really. now I'm down to probably less than 8 and a few of those still need to be listed for sale....

I have downsized my safety razor collection to 4( with only two in weekly/bi-weekly rotation) from about 25. I definitely get more consistent and comfortable shaves now. (Blackbird, 34C and occasionally Tech, Slim) will only buy a BBS-1 if they open the list which I assume will never happen. I usually shave with a razor for 10-15 days then move on to a new one.

Trying to downsize my straight razor collection from 8 to 2/3 but no luck in trying to sell them at a fairly discounted price.

Brush: If I don't start to enjoy my Shavemac after 15 more uses, I plan to sell all/most of my badgers and keep boars mostly as I really enjoy them/ find them easier and more fun to use. I have two synthetics, might add a 26mm plisson style one.

Aftershave: Unless I am really intrigued by the scent profile, I will not add any aftershave to my collection of ~25 of them and whoever visits my house is encouraged to take an aftershave or two Smile. Only unrefined shea butter, unscented Stirling balm for me. And AoS Sandalwood. And Myrsol Blue.

Soaps and Creams: Oh well, this is where I am going crazy these days. But I have started to sell brands that I don't like for one reason or another. So apart from my trusted Artisan/Commercial brands, I have decided to explore only through Pasteurs. I have about 40 now. At it's peak I had about 55.

I really feel good about downsizing as now I get great shaves consistently: I started this traditional route with the primary aim of getting irritation free shaves. So while exploring new things and having a larger den is fun, it is not worth the occasional rough shaves.

I haven't used an injector in probably 6+ months, if not longer. my rotation basically consists of the general, feather as-d2 and a fat handle gillette tech.

I still have the razorock hawk & slant to try...
