I should mention that the Thater that I got was early on in my return to wet shaving.  It might have been as good as the Savile Row, but I think I was stuck in the whole, "Is this brush $100 better than the brushes I already have?" mode.  Maybe it was and I just didn't realize it at the time.  It would be interesting to have another 4125/2 to try out, but chances are that won't happen.  I think I just got a really good deal on this BST that I probably won't see again.  I asked the seller why he sold it for so cheap and his response was, "Well shit feel free to send me more money!"  Great guy and I'm glad it worked out in my favor.  I think he was trying to fund some Palidin brush purchases.

Was the Thater a bulb or a fan? While I like both shapes, I do prefer Thater's fans. I checked out SRs on the Qedusa site and there is quite a selection and range of prices with the higher end ones costing as much or more than Thaters. The site also doesn't ship outside USA so unless I can find another source, those brushes will evade me for the time being. Big Grin Do I need any more brushes? No but since when is this about need right?

I have been exploring the wonderful journey of brushes for over seven years, now, trying well over 100 brushes (mainly used ones) and I have gravitated towards large 2-Band knots. Having tried the majority of boars, synthetics and badgers of all kinds (3-Band and 2-Band), I have found what suits me, extremely well. Shy

Well heyal I bow down to you with my extensive list of 25 that I have tried. Tongue

I do enjoy my different brushes for different reasons though. I guess I would agree that brushes are a personal thing. Smile
