I used my Vie-Long 12601 horsehair brush for this morning's shave and it got me thinking about those plain, unassuming, and perhaps not so pretty pieces of shaving gear that one just doesn't want to part with, even if there are pieces that are newer, more sophisticated, or more showy.  If you have a piece of gear like that perhaps you'd share it here.  Here is that US$12.00 Vie-Long 12601:

My most used brush these days:

https://www.tvbshaving.com/shaving-brush...uro-x.html

I have quite a few brushes that cost more than 30 times of what I paid for this one, some(2/3) cost more than 40 times. I still use this brush, or the 26mm version of the same brush for more than 75% of the time.

This little synthetic brush. It's the Omega S10018. The handle is plasticky and cheap, it looks like a toy, but it makes excellent lather in no time. It cost me about 6 euros and I'd say that I prefer it to many other more expensive brushes. Omega synthetics are very underrated.

I'm in this hobby almost 4 years. I never spent more than 60 euros for a brush. To me, they're just hairs. Also, I'm against the slaughter of badgers for their precious fur. If you've watched videos, you know how cruel it is.

I prefer to spend my money on razors and I have quite a lot of them.

What razor is that? It looks like a safety razor. Is it SE or DE? What make and model and year is it?

That's a new, modern OneBlade by the looks of it. I could be wrong, but that's my guess. It's single edge, if I am correct...

I read your other post saying maybe I should give up shaving. No way. I enjoy shaving better than any other hobby. That was kind of offensive. And yes, I shaved with my Krona finally. Please forgive me for updating my progress too late but I was taking my time, AS ''YOU'' and one other member advised. I'm staying in the shaving world. I enjoy it better than anything else.

Confused here.
BadDad is one of the few guys with a big enough heart to take the time to coach you along on this site. You might have him confused with someone like me, or 90% of the rest of the forum, but BadDad should not be the focus of your ire. You might want to think about walkin that back a little.

Freddy,
All of my soap and a 37C are my only current production shave items. Everything else is vintage---meaning it all looks homely Smile And I love every aspect of them.
Maybe I will post a picture of Frankenstien, my homely reknotted brush that seems to shatter in my hands with regular use. I superglue it back together about every other month.

If you think I was attacking him, I wasn't. I was just simply explaining that I love my shaving hobby better than any other hobby. I have nothing against BadDad, or ANY other member on this site. All I want is friendship and guidance on this site as well as share my news as they come. That's all.
