I can’t imagine the handle I had in mind feeling any better during use than this one does. Sometimes, when I’m passing by, I pick up this brush simply because it’s so nice to hold.

Burned in with safety wire or similar type wire.

Thanks - it looked burned but I was wondering how you did it without burning outside the lines - wire, brilliant.

Glad you like it Matthew. I think I'll make me another one and get one of those knots you have. It's time I finally buy one of the newer type synthetics.

Which synthetic is your favourite? I have been using the cashmere in a 25mm knot with 53mm loft and I really like it. At this height there is no glue bump that I can feel. It splays easily but isn't floppy. I have found that the various black finer knots are springy and scritchy. I thought that the AP Shave synthetic horse might be nice, but a few review place it in the same category as the black fibre.

Nuki Man, I think for me the best right now is the original Tuxedo knot. However, the loft has to be set right (rather high) for it to really shine. I haven’t tried the Cashmere yet.

The Mühle (and Edwin Jagger) Silvertip Fibre is a nice knot, as well.

I must say, some of the slightly older synthetics are still among my favorites, also. Knots such as the Sunrise, or the one that’s on the Stirling Kong, don’t look like much. And they’re not very dense, by today’s standards. But I still find them a pleasure to use.
