I just finished talking to Brad who is on the manufacturing side of Henson. The Tungsten insert and the brass threads were done to decrease the friction of the threading and prevent gulling of titanium on titanium in wet conditions. They also did it to increase the weight toward the head for better balance.
The PVD coated razors had been delayed but issues have been fixed and they are starting to come in on Friday so shipping of those should start soon. COVID has affected their business just like many other companies but they are working long hours to get these razors out.

Yesterday both my Yates H plate and Henson +++ razors arrived in the mail, so this morning I did a comparative shave; Yates on the left, Henson on the right.  This was intended to be a one pass shave using fresh Feather blades and Zirh shaving cream with no brush.

While the Henson +++ had more blade feel than their ++ did, it still took two passes with the Henson to accomplish what the Yates did in one.  Then I did a final pass on both sides with the Yates to clean up what the Henson left behind.  Then I finished with a splash of Speick aftershave, and felt a lot of burn on the right side but very little on the left.

I'm going to give the Henson a few more shaves before I decide whether to keep or sell it.  I'm probably going to keep the Yates, and get it polished.  This is my first impression of these two razors; YMMV.

Nice thoughts! May I ask which handle you have that you're using on the Yates there? It looks like maybe the H&S ?

Thank you as that gives me another one that will fit it that I did not know about. Mine was on loan and just got back to me and I never thought to check and see if it fit the Yates.

The N075 handles are different from the P076 handles.

I got mine a couple days ago. I plan on shaving tomorrow morning as I just don't have enough growth at the moment to give it a fair assessment.
