Received my ++ baseplate today which I believe is the medium, not sure as the paperwork doesn’t say that it came with. I ordered an aggressive and a medium. Will give it a try tonight. Finish is a step below the BB Ti.

I was expecting to find my razor outside since it was marked delivered but nope looks like it got miss delivered, been on hold with fedex for over an hour trying to reach a representative.

Crisis averted, Fedex tracked down the package and the razor is now safely in the den.

The Henson Ti +++ (aggressive) arrived today and I used it to take down 4 days worth of growth.

The top cap, safety bars, and handle all seem to be brushed. The handle seems to have a bit more shine than other areas. The cuts in the handle feel a little more pronounced than on the AL; no slipping on this handle.

The top cap features brass threading and I thought Jonathan had mentioned tungsten insert in the handle, essentially allowing adjustability like in the AL.

I popped a brand new Astra SP into it and lathered up some Barrister and Mann Bay Rum to get to work on the longest growth I’ve had in months.

Currently, my Henson AL medium is on loan to a friend, so it’s been a while since using one. But from the first stroke with this more “aggressive” version, I had that same feeling from my first shave with the aluminum version. “This is something special” I couldn’t help thinking to myself with a little smile on my face.

The first pass cleared 4 days growth on my cheeks down to practically nothing. The next two passes left me with a wonderfully close and irritation free shave, even in those tough areas on the neck. Very reminiscent of my Yates H plate but ever so slightly less blade feel. For both razors, the efficiency and comfort levels are wonderful.

The titanium aspect of the razor was wonderful. Great weight, and warm to touch and hold. Unlike my stainless razors, the Henson lacked the cold glide as it sliced through my beard.

I’ll post more thoughts. I’d like to use blades I’m more impressed by and give it a go on my regular two or one day’s growth. Initial results are promising, but I’ve been misled before.

First shave with the ++ baseplate (medium or original men’s baseplate). I loaded up a 2nd use PermaSharp blade and an ETHOS lavender soap, using a chubby 2.
I like the shave feel of the Titanium over the aluminum
I prefer the slight increase in weight and the weighting more toward the head with the brass screw.
The minimal blade feel is identical to the aluminum razor and it easily whipped across my face for a 3 pass BBS.
The finish on mine is more of a machined finish as I can still see machining swirls but it is very smooth to the touch and gives that soft face feel.
First impressions are that I am glad I got this, it will make a great daily driver for me, I look forward to getting my aggressive +++ baseplate in gunmetal to see how it shaves.

Interesting that there is brass threading. So not fully machined out of titanium. But a little bit more weight towards the head, which may not be a bad thing. I've never been all that clear on the hardness / longevity of brass. I guess in practice, it's pretty damn hard, but I'm not sure how confident I would be in this versus a 100% titanium razor.
