I bought the 1.30 after reading some of the initial reviews here. I am no expert. I like the razor -

1. Very light and nimble, similar to my blackbird Ti. Feels much tamer than it really is. If not careful, it can bite or cause irritation.

2. Having such a big gap, this razor has a wide range of angles that work. So, it gives the shaver a lot of control to dial in the right amount of efficiency needed for the amount of growth.

3. Too efficient as an everyday shaver. I can use it with at least two days growth. For me, my bbs lasts 12 hours. Folks that like to do one or two pass shaves will like this razor I think. I can shave with the blutt 1.2 or Muhle r41 daily, but not this 1.3. I get some irritation if I shave daily with it.

4. Others may disagree, but I find that using a milder blade like voshkod makes the razor much more enjoyable for me. No nicks, cuts or weepers. Same with my Wolfman wr2 SS 1.45.

5. I find the efficiency between blackbird ti and wr2 ss 1.45. It’s a fun razor whenever I reach for it. Very smooth even on the first pass, no drag. Similar in efficiency also to the charcoal goods gen 3 lvl 3 I have. But the feel is different. The CG is like a Cadillac - heavy, cushy and comfy. The 1.3 is a sporty sedan. Sorry if the analogy is cliche

6. I do feel a bit of chatter when going against the grain. Not as comfortable as blutt 1.2, wr2 1.45 or even my r41. I just do x-grain on my neck with this and buff.

7. I do not regret buying it, and not considering selling it any time soon. I think it fills a gap in my lineup nicely.

These are based on my experience with the razor. YMMV.

I received the razor and will be shaving with it tomorrow morning for a 32 hour hair growth shave. I think this razor might be too efficient for a 24 hour/daily shave. Will post thoughts then.

I don’t really like the term “aggressive “, but this razor is also true to it’s namesake just like the H&S Efficient razor. It has a lot of blade feel and is an ideal shaver for hair growth of more than 2 days. It’s overkill of a razor to be used daily unless your shaving just WTG passes. The WTG pass is nice, but when going ATG this razor doesn’t feel so good. ATG passes aren’t smooth and can bite when careless. I think the design of lacking support under the blade is a contributing factor to the rough feel. I love the .76 & .83 and glad I bought them but this one is too aggressive for me.

I think if the safety bar could be slightly more extended it would result in a smoother shave overall, especially go against the grain.

This time: exposure, efficiency and aggressiveness will drop. He has other razors for who prefer milder or medium.
I like 1.3 because it shaves like CG Gen1 Lv3. I think he is creating different type of razors. So one of them will work for you, other is for me.

Yes, and that is the point. For people who still want the 1.30 they can keep that. He could make an "H&S EX1. 30 Ti", to run currently with the 1.30. It would change the the efficiency and aggression (slightly) but not the exposure (blade reveal), the shave plane would change though.

I think that would be a great offering as it could still offer those who are looking for a high efficiency gap like the 1.30 but still be able to shave with a milder version.

Ok, so first impressions are off the chart for me. I enjoyed the 0.83, but I love this razor. Fantastic shave, super comfortable, easy to use. It will bite if you aren't paying attention (I caught a bump on the back of my head) but it really feels pretty tame with a steep angle, which I prefer. I don't like the handle much. I prefer shorter handles, and where my hand naturally wants to hold this one is right below the knurling.

This razor moved up to the top of my wishlist.  I've been saving up some funds for Black Friday sales, but I may just put them toward one of these.

For my full thoughts on fit, finish, construction, and packaging on this razor, see my post about my thoughts on the Ti 083.  Other than the increased blade gap on this one, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two.

For background on how I use my razors, I'm a head and neck shaver.  I typically shave every 2-3 days (although I go through periods of daily shaving) and I do a single pass across the grain on my head with a lot of touch-up buffing as I go.  I usually do two with the grain passes on my neck.  I also prefer a short handle and like to use a pretty steep angle.

I think this razor provides amazing efficiency at a very high level of comfort, which is what I look for in a razor.  One of my current favorite razors is the Stirling ST.  I did a side-by-side shave with the Ti 1.30 and the Stirling ST and I don't think I could tell much of a difference in the results.

I think the weight is right at the low end of my sweet spot.  I don't get along with aluminum razors very well.  They tend to skip and chatter.  I use a mix of vintage brass and modern stainless and zamak razors for the most part and don't own any titanium razors yet.  I think the slightly lighter weight on the Ti 1.30 offsets the increased aggression nicely.  Compared to my Stirling ST, I would say this razor had less blade feel and overall provided a more comfortable shave.

One thing to note is that I think this razor gets far more aggressive feeling if you shave with a shallow angle. I did catch a couple of bumps on the back of my head the first shave, and it was in areas where the razor angle tends to get pretty shallow. For me, it really excels in that balance of efficiency and comfort when used with a steep angle.

I really only have two negatives with this razor

  1. I don't like the handle.  I prefer 85mm max.  This long handle just seemed to get in my way.  The knurling is also nowhere near where I naturally wanted to grip the razor.  That's my one hesitancy with ordering this razor is I know I'm going to need to replace the handle, which will increase the cost.  I might have to email Aji and see if there's any way to order one with the 80mm handle that comes with the P076 titanium razors.
  2. I'm still a bit concerned about how thin those safety bars are.  I know titanium is super strong, but I'm not convinced those thin bars would hold up well to a drop.

Bottom line, I think this is the second or third DFS pass around that has led to me making a purchase.  Thanks to Aji and to Andrew for organizing these.  While I thank you, my bank account does not...
