Yesterday, I did a 2 pass shave with the Nodachi vs the H&S on 3 days growth with both my face and dome. The results we're outstanding! Had a great shave with both razors with a fresh permasharp blade but the H&S handled the growth just as well as the nodachi but with noticeably more comfort. The Nodachi shaves great but I think it may be too aggressive for me, I need to test it out more to make a decision but based on these two shaves, definitely prefer the H&S. The nodachi felt a bit more efficient but it was hard to tell because both shaved very close with no irritation.

Overall every shave with this razor so far has been excellent and it's definitely a razor I would reccomend to someone looking for a premium razor that shaves incredibly well and at a good price point.

Thanks for the videos - although possibly not a fair comparison, I think the Masamune with Nodachi cap would be closer to the N075 (both with neutral exposure).

Allow me to disavow you of such a notion. The Masamune, whilst a fine razor is nowhere near as efficient as the H&S N075Al. The reviewer was correct to compare the Nodachi and N075Al razors as achieving almost identical results with dramatically different blade feel

I did say "possibly" and have yet to try the NO75Al myself.

I mostly did the showdown since I just got the nodachi and wanted to try it out aswell. I've tried all combinations so far except for that one. So i will try the masamune baseplate with nodachi cap tonight and see how it compares. Will share the results here. Thanks for the feedback.

I can definitely agree with that. I love my masamune but the H&S manages to be a bit smoother with more efficiency despite having more blade exposure and blade gap likely due to the head geometry. It's going to be a tough choice deciding what to let go lol. Probably will let go of my least favorite tatara combination in favor of the H&S. It feels like a must buy at this point.

Here’s a curious thought: Would anyone have a charcoal goods cap to fit with the H&S baseplate? Not sure how it would shave of course, but a copper top and handle with the Al baseplate would likely look stunning!

I will definitely try out the H & S (and the Silversmith) at some point. Not being in the US passarounds are hard to find for the N075.
