Folk calm down. The current user was called to the UN and will be shipping to the next user this weekend. Things are in turmoil and delays happen. Were there reason for concern, I would be blowing the whistle

I took receipt of the razors today. Gorgeous set. Holy cow. Super impressed. I'm going to put the OC to 3 or 4 days growth here in a bit.

Quick thoughts. I'll take the time to do a formal write-up when I'm done because I want to spend some time with these razors. I think I will only get 2 more shaves in with it. 3 tops. Tentatively, my plan is to run both heads at the same time to compare efficiency and face feel. Then, I'll run it against my polished Ti WR1 0.94mm SB (pictured).

The P076 and WR1 on a solid 80mm WRH2 weigh within 1g of each other. I accidentally ordered the 80mm handle on the WR1 but have grown to enjoy it even tho it is shorter than anything I own. I prefer the P076 handle and being honest, balance too.

My WR1, in brushed Ti today, is roughly $485 as listed on his site and probably close to what I paid. James did not charge me for the polish. I've investigated 3rd party solutions and have been quoted $300 to mirror polish my brushed Ti WR2s. Assuming one could source polishing for a better deal than me, say $215...now you have a $700 Mirror polished WR1. DuFour's Ti prices are prior to him upping the SS prices to today's MSRP. I'll let you do your own speculating as to how high "new" Ti prices will be if he ever build more. My guess would be quite a bit more than $500.

So...we are comparing, as I understand it, two one man shows...top to bottom.

DuFour told me in emails over this 94, as I recall, he does not offer nor like to do mirror on Ti. Mine was done because I kinda begged. I like mirror. Nothing like them when they're clean. Anyway, James told me Ti wont take a true mirror, like 95%, and it takes quite a while to get it there. I was left with the impression it took longer than SS and just didnt meet his standards. Aji is very close to DuFours 95%. The top cap, I cant tell a difference. Bottom of the baseplate the WR1 is a little cleaner. Handles are essentially the same. Aji should be very proud of himself.

I lay that groundwork to say this. Aji, like James did forever, undervalues his time and like DanLaw said....when you get to this kind of craftsmanship you arent paying for hourly labor. You pay for years of experience, a genuine pride in work, and a eye to detail. There can't be many guys like that in the razor world. Murat at Rocnel maybe?

As to shave, it short, it was fantastic. I'm told it is the same geometry as the 17-4 I tried, and I've not gone back to read my thoughts on the 17-4 but I dont recall the 17'4 cutting this close. While I was shaving. I was thinking WR1 80mm, but 86mm is probably closer. I'll figure it out tho. The P076 is very smooth too. Plenty of blade feel to lock on to the edge and know exactly what it is doing but not overbearing or harsh in any way. Perfectly balanced. It's a fantastic shaver.

Battle of the TI-tans
WR1 Ti .94mmSB/80mm WRH2 v H&S Ti P076 SB

I decided to run the rumble. New blades. The 94 has slightly more blade feel and after the first pass cut just a wee bit closer. So, the P076 cuts like a WR1 .86mm.

I've not always gotten along with the 94, especially with Feather blades. In fact, its been several months since I used it. But tonight with Personna blades, it was fantastic. Even so, the P076 matched it. I was kind of surprised, pleasantly so. The P076 SB is a very nice ride.

I feel like the P076 SB was slightly smoother with less blade feel than the its OC sibling I think the OC may cut a smidge closer. Final shave will be the SB v OC rumble to see which I prefer.
