As far as Mohammad goes, things are very simple. He screwed up. I doubt anyone appreciates that more than Mohammad, or is more concerned about it than Mohammad himself. It should not be any surprise at all that many people are disappointed, angry, and so on in varying degrees. Nor should it be a surprise that a handful of members are more supportive of Mohammad.
So for better or worse, the soap is now in Mohammad's hands, and nothing said here will get it delivered more quickly. And going forward, Mohammad will have to prove himself as a reliable vendor and make things right with his customers. Nothing said here will change that either.
Pretty much the only significant thing that will change as a result of what is said here depends on how well we respect each other, and that respect is eroding on all sides of the issue. I hope you will take that to heart gentlemen.
With all due respect, I'm not sure that "Mohammad will have to prove himself as a reliable vendor..." In my book, he already is. Sure, his deadlines are not reliable. In my experience, he has delivered. Not within his stated timeline, of course, but he's always delivered. Probably because I have too many shaving products already, I don't really care if my delivery is two days or two weeks or two months. Sitting here today, I'm still waiting, 3-1/2 months later, for a pair of rebuilt Mephisto shoes that were promised within six weeks. Do I care? No, because I have other shoes to wear.
We're all different, but ironically I get more patient as I age, even as I have less lifetime to wait for vendors to perform...
By proving himself as "reliable vendor", I mean one who has stock ready when he says he does, and who ships items sold as "in stock" when he says he will (really ships - not just creates labels). You are free to define the term "reliable vendor" differently from me, but now it should be clear that when I say
..............."Mohammad will have to prove himself as a reliable vendor"
I mean
..............."Mohammad will have to prove himself as a vendor who has stock ready when he says he does,
............... and who (really) ships items sold as "in stock" when he says he will."
In some respects, I think I feel as you do, but in other respects I disagree. I'm not worried about
whether the soap will be delivered, and I have no doubts about Mohammad's good character. I am so grateful to have his products, and so well stocked, that I abide the wait calmly. But IMO the complaints that some people are voicing are serious and legitimate, and none of the reasons you gave for feeling as you do diminishes the seriousness or legitimacy of those complaints. Nor do I think that because some of us are at peace with the situation that everyone else should feel that way. And whether they "
should" feel that way or not, the fact is that they
don't. Of course, I can't speak for Mohammad, but my guess is that he will regard these criticisms as serious and legitimate, and will work very hard to address them. He's a fine man, just not a perfect one.
I would only add that I am starting to feel like someone who has said more than he set out to. Mohammad will be here soon enough anyway.
