A bit busy of late but had a chance to open and use the Mandarin Bay yesterday and the new Lusso this morning. The Donkey base is a wonderful creamy lather with an amazing post shave.

The jasmine and florals are beautifully executed in this new Lusso with some added incense incorporated. This new Lusso might be the finest in shave lather I’ve experienced.

Considering hardware and software GroomingDept really is my favorite part of this hobby/shaving. Well done Mohammad!

SOTD - First use of the soap. Second with the pre/post shave. 3rd with the razor. There is a lot of "new" going on so I can't pinpoint the cause, but the results were one of the best to date. I appreciate the pre-shave is not oily. The soap is very good. I think I loaded too much and because I face lather there is no way I was getting enough water in it without piles of soap on the floor. I'll do better tomorrow. I agree with brother vtmax ...creamy is a great word and the post shave feel was very nice. The first couple of times I used the post shave was before A/S splash, thinking it may help with greasy/oily feeling from the post. A friend told me the post was supposed to be done after the AS splash, so I switched today. The post shave used sparingly does not leave a greasy/oily feel, just soft skin. So far....the new routine with the GD products is suiting me just fine. Great products.

Another FYI Smile

USPS and FedEx are increasing their shipping rates but Grooming Dept is not! As always, you will not be charged for shipping. Thank you for your business and support.

I'm looking forward to a Patchouli release.  Is there a tentative date?

Soooooo, used the Jasmine and Civet this morning and it continually amazes me how Mohammad keeps improving on his bases. I own Coat Tails and Chypre Vert and love both of them but this new version of Lusso has increased the quality of the lather, increased the slickness as you add water and nailed the post shave which was a bit lower than my favorite bases in the past. The genius of Mohammad does it again with this one and the scent is very nice and not overpowering. The lather is not as dense as the first iteration of the Lusso base which is a good thing in my opinion. It nails all the check marks for me and is now neck and neck with the Janus base for me. All you need is about a 10-15 second load and you will have a ton of lather. This new Lusso soap is not as soft as the other two which means you can really gauge how much you need to load. Great job Mohammad!! Now when are those new Mallard soaps going to be ready for purchase??!!

Pottertons I have the old vegan formula. It performs just as well as tallow for layering lathering and shaving, but the post shave is not quite as moisturized feeling. However, the newer formula is supposed to address the minor disparities between the vegan and tallow performance.

I made a Jasmine & Civet serum for a neighbor. The scent at extremely low concentration is incredibly comforting Smile you only get a hint of jasmine and white florals, the scent is super clean! I topped it with lemon. Now I want to make a Jasmine & Lemon Janus Smile

The mimosa in the Jasmine and Civet soap has a really soothing effect. I can't explain the feeling but it is very familiar and soothing.
