You can get user grade Fatboys for $30 on ebay if you know where to look. $200 is fing dumb and so is anybody that pays that price. Unless you are looking for a NOS razor.

OP...$200 for a Fatboy is unnecessary for a user grade piece.  You may be looking at rhodium replates or very nice original gold plated Executives.  If you want to try one, patience and $40 will get you a user grade piece.  Then, stop there.  There is no need to go down the rabbit hole of the different versions like Toggles.  They shave basically the same, very little difference.  Now, if you dig the one you get and set out to collect them all, by all means have fun but don't think a $250 Toggle is going to be a substantial improvement in the shave itself.  I own danged near all of the different heads and likely could not tell the difference in shave output.  They feel relatively the same in the hand.  The big difference is only in how they look in the mirror while they perform the same task.  Don't get me wrong....I love all of mine and will never sell them...but this is the truth in my den.  The Fatboy shaves better than any of the other adjustable TTO's, but I like weight.  Others like the Slim better for various reasons, they are certainly worth a try too....another $30 investment.

OP...$200 is unnecessary expense.  You don't need an NOS one, a revamped one, a pristine example.

But....thats only 5 adjustable TTOs in 3 different varieties! You have lots of work to do and a couple $1000s to spend....and that's if you stay away from serial toggles and bottom dials. Shall I start a list for you?

I wont take that route of spending 4-5K for rare razors. So far I have probably spent the most around $1200 in shaving gear and as far vintage collection goes of DE and SE razors I'm done with that one. I also have at least 15 RR soaps and probably 2000+ blades DE + SE and probably will add few more.

This collection of vintage SE and DE is done, no more buying ( never paid more than $40 per razor in the vintage collection except the British Aristocrats OC and SB which were $80 each) That's 6 adjustables, you forgot the Gibbs

The modern SE and DE razors will stay open, since I have weakness for adjustables and affordable RR stuff most likely I will add some more over time. Next one to take a spot in the case will be the Rex
