Which one you use?

Those are the same blades I use. I've only tried one other and it was ok. I don't dislike it as much as others but the one you purchased seems to be the most popular. Good luck with the shave and let us know how you like it!

That's the right blade IMO. I find that they get better after 3-4 shaves. Since the are good for up to 30+ shaves 3-4 is nothing really. FWIW, I use them in a milder razor for those first shaves. Toward the end of their life, if they weren't there for the other shaves I put them into an ER '24 and they work fine there. Rarely do I ever get fewer than 20 comfortable and efficient shaves from one. They never draw blood or are uncomfortable, the shave just gets inefficient and that's when I get a new blade.

Great to hear this feedback. My first 1912 arrived yesterday in the mail and the blades are on their way yet. I was surprised at first at the size of this razor and the handle and also that in spite of it - it is such a well crafted and strudy tool even after all these years. Looking forward for the blades to arrive and have my first Gem shave !!

Shave Maharaja, I love your signature. It CAN save money, meaning that it's a possibility. Unfortunately many on this forum and other shave forums have a disease called "acquisition disorder" and it's a communicable disease as we search for the perfect shave. There are many forms of AD. There is RAD, or razor AD; BAD, or brush AD; SAD, or soap AD; and list goes on. As long as it doesn't take food out of the mouths of the children it hurts nothing and generally one can get the money back when one encounters something that isn't liked. There are far worse (and far more costly) hobbies.

Thats true !! If i can shave 10 times with the same blade ill keep the gem 1912 buy 200 more blades sell the rest keep 2 brush and just buy soap when needed, i would save lots of money but is not like that. I keep looking for a diferent experience every time . New razor new brush etc.

Thank you ! With a 100 plus vintage and modern DE razors (everything excludes a Wolfmann) atleast 40 soaps and 25 aftershaves and another 30-40 shave brushes - it's turned out to be quite a journey in the last ten years and has it saved money !!!

And now I've started the SE journey and it's another adventure. I've had two shaves so far using a Gem Junior yday and a Gem G-Bar today - all I can say is wow ! I wonder how I didn't start earlier. Zero irritation , extremely close BBS shaves and from what I read 30 odd shaves a blade !! Woot !

I've yet to shave with the MMOC, clog pruf , 1912, star , ever ready in my den ! I don't think I'll go for a modern Gem razor yet - the vintage ones are so artistic to look at and perform so well and haven't really read about a modern Gem razor which really out does the vintage Gems !

I'm one of those people who can sometimes get 30+ shaves from a blade. Most times though it's near 20+. I do that by putting the blade into a more aggressive razor as it ages. FWIW, they never give an uncomfortable shave, they just get more inefficient and at some point I'd be working too hard to get a great shave and the razor gets canned.

Update on my gem 1912 . Its my daily razor now . Every single shave is so good and the blade last long in my experience.
