Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
RazoRock Game Changer .84mm
Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless(2)
Yaqi Red Marble Tuxedo (28mm, Destroyer Class)
Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood
Drydock Lather Bowl
Jeeves of Hudson Street 'Blood on Steel'

Shave #2 with the .84mm Game Changer, smooth as silk. This razor is in a class right along side my Above the Tie and Rex Ambassador. It is very efficient, but doesn't in an way feel harsh. I fact I don't think there is any noticeable difference in blade feel between the original .68mm base plate and the new .84mm. The results however are much closer at the end of each pass.

See, I'm having the exact opposite feeling with this razor. Granted it's only been 2 shaves, but I've noticed it offers more blade feel (not harsh, still very smooth) without the added efficiency. The resulting closeness is about the same with both baseplates. I'll continue to use it, maybe on more days growth next time, but I like to shave every day so.... I get closer to BBS with the Karve D plate with the same amount of shaving.

I tend to use a pretty shallow shaving angle so I think the slight increase in blade exposure, rather then the gap, is what's making the difference for me.

Yeah, I'm going to start experimenting with different angles to see if I get better results.

I tried both plates and for me there is a significant difference in efficiency, while the .84 plate feels only slightly more aggressive. The quality of shave is on par with my Weber PH, WR1 .67 SB, and CharcoalGoods Lv3 SB. However, while being able to achieve a BBS in three passes with minimal clean up and NO AS burn at all, the shave is not as exciting as with my BlackBirds. Big Grin

I initially was skeptical about the name. But after a few consistently excellent shaves I can confidently say that the built quality of the razor and its price of $54 combined with the outstanding shaving characteristics might actually qualify this razor as a game changer for me.

I got my 84 GC today so I did my normal evening shave with it. I did a full 3 pass shave using a Polsilver blade, Wolf Whiskers Brush and AOS Kingsmen cream. First I must say I have tried almost all of RR razors in SS and Ti and sold all of them including the first GC as they are just too mild for my liking. I also hate loading my blade on the baseplate first, but I may adapt after this shave. I found it to be very smooth with only a tiny amount of Blade feel. The first pass WTG left me with a DFS, the 2nd pass XTG left me Near BBS on my face and the third ATG gave me a total DFS. IMO I would say this gave me a shave very similar to my Wolfman .61 or my Timeless 68. The material and fit is excellent, the finish is below average but for the price I think Joe can now say he has a GameChanger. I will stay with this razor for awhile and see how things go but this is my first impression

expert shaver
PSL
First time use. Used a Polsilver super iridium blade along with Pacific Shaving caffeinated shave cream and a Razorock 24 mm barrel synthetic. I did my usual two pass shave and it felt very similar to my Paradigm Titanium 2 razor. Very smooth and close with little problems. Grip and build quality is excellent. For a $55 razor it is truly amazing. I can't compare the head with the previous one Joe offered because I never owned one. I notice all the Game Changers are sold out but I highly recommend picking one up when they are for sale again.

Wow. That's saying something comparing it to one of the higher end razors in the business plus it's reputation as a smooth and great all around shaver. I know similar is not exact but, still high praise indeed.
