Hello all!

My shave consisted of the soap set and balm by Lather Bros, my shavemac, a Gillette Fatboy on 9/7/5, and a fresh Gillette 7 o clock green.
So I bought this soap and balm set with my wife's money. I preordered on the 18th, shipped on the 25th, delivered on the 28th.
Scent notes are Lavender, Asian Pear, and Cedar. Off the puck, I mainly get that sweet crisp fresh scent of the Asian pear. Think about when you bite into a pear or an apple. That's exactly what I get from the puck. Once it lathered up the cedar became more prominent, but the pear still shone through as the stronger scent. The scent is not very strong, I'd rate it at a 5 or 6 out of 10. It also did not linger on me for more than an hour.
I started out with a relatively dry brush, and the soap lathered up perfectly well, a 20 load was enough to get a nice thick paste. I went ahead and added a few drops of water and started face lathering. To me this compares to Chiseled Face the way it lathers and performs. I had enough for 3 passes and touch ups with some left over. The cushion and protection on this is on par with other artisans, again Chiseled Face comes to mind, as well as Wholly Kaw. The slickness is great while the lather is on your face. Once you shave that section on your face, the slickness starts to dissipate. I found that just adding a couple drops of water helped alleviate this. The post shave feel on this made my skin feel so soft, I'd actually rate this higher than other artisans, among my top 3.
Now let's talk about the balm. This balm came packaged with the soap. Squeezing it out of the tube, it's almost like a tooth paste consistency. The scent on this is more lavender with hints of pear and pairs perfectly with the soap which had more cedar than lavender. It has a very pleasant cooling feeling, but not overpowering. It does not contain alcohol. Again, the scent strength is not very strong, and does not longer. This is definitely a downside in my opinion, as I really like the scent and would like for it to be stronger and longer.
This is my new all time favorite balm. If I could buy this on its own I would. This thing made my skin feel softer than I could've imagined. While I like the soap, I love the balm, and it bums me out that they don't have balms for sale and only splashes.
This set has earned it's spot in my rotation, I like the scent profile, while the soap isn't perfect, lacking a bit in slickness and scent strength, to me the post shave feel outweighs that by far, and I'll be picking up their "Calle Ocho," and "Take Out Night" offerings sometime in the near future.
