You do realize, Chris, you have built up quite a fan club, even among those of us who don't use straights. We shall be following your journey in all things straight razor related. Smile

Are you still planning on attempting scales in some of the beautiful resins and other materials that are out there?

Absolutely! I have some local support, as well. The goal is to collect some vintage blades, purchase some additional materials, and hopefully be ready to set up a vendor stand at next year's swap meets and fairs. I would like to be able to offer re-vamped vintage razors, some lessons on making lather and using the razors, maybe some honing demonstrations...things like that to get some interest and possibly make some sales...

That would be fantastic!

Great looking scales Chris. I am impressed. Also a perfect choice of wood.

Chris,

Your razors are beautiful.

I am almost tempted to try a cutthroat once a bloody gain.

But I had better rely on my discretion rather than my valour.

What guys (female as well as male guys) like me need is a live, not recorded, demonstration or two or more.

Best of luck with any new undertakings. Your descriptions are so lucid that it is a pleasure to experience them.

So, I dropped this razor in mail this morning to Austinoire . I don't believe he has seen this post yet, so I just want to call his attention here since this is officially "his razor" now...

Good luck and good shaves, Austinoire. I hope she finds you in good health and the two of you can make some decent shaves together!

Holy snikies, BadDad!!!

I never imagined it would look this good. The teak was a great aesthetic choice and I feel will be extremely functional in a wet shaving environment.

I can't wait to give this little number a good home and many excellent shaves.

Great job, Chris (BadDad)

Mail call: won a straight razor in a PIF. Chris (BadDad) had to shore it up, he did an amazing job. Oh, he also threw in a couple of soaps for my trouble.

Damn fine work, Chris. I am now officially a straight razor owner.

Well done. Great PIF!
