We were wandering about North Conway NH, a tourist town with lots of shops and restaurants.
We stopped at Fields of Ambrosia a local craft soap and scent maker. It was mostly woman's stuff. But they do have a line for men called
Renaissance Man
I am a sucker for artisan shave soaps. But I try to control my urges as I often wound up with lousy pucks. I purchased Northwoods with a light woodsy scent and sandalwood which has a hint of bourban which elevates it above mere sandal wood.
The soaps are saponified veggie oils. But they are clear like glycerin soaps??

I have been using the Northwoods all week so I do not have a "new" state picture. But the tin of sandalwood shows how clear these are.

Review
Cost - $8 for a 4 oz puck. The tin was pricier at $4.50 per 2 ounces.
not expensive at all.
Lather - this lathered instantly in my hard water. Between the clearness and the ease of lather it looks/acts like a glycerine soap. I actually double checked the label the first time I used it
The lather was thick and creamy. The pic does not do it justice. It had a good glide feel.
Scent - a nice woodsy sent. I liked it. Just wish it was a touch stronger.
Overall - This is an excellent soap. It shaves above it's pricepoint. This shaves as well as any soap I have tried in 40 years of lathering. I would put this up against any of the myriad of soaps in my shave cupboard.I was both amazed and impressed that this local artisan soap did so well.
My daughter and her young man were there. He has the in vogue full beard. But they purchased skin cream and cologne in the Sandalwood. It is a nice long lasting scent.
