Feather SE Edge Blades

Hi Team,

I would like to know how the Feather stainless steel coated FHS-10 SE blades compare to the cheaper carbon steel Seikan version.  Any and all comments are appreciated.

The carbon Seikans are hideous, dull and rough.
The stainless Feather SEs are shockingly sharp but only good for about 3 or 4 shaves at a push.

For me its a better deal to acquire NOS Valet blades which are as sharp but smoother and with greater longevity.

Thanks for the reply mj.  Looks like this newbie should have just ordered a ten pack off of Ebay lol!   I will give them a try.  Maybe their performance can be improved somewhat by stropping.

BTW, I ordered the blades for a Valet auto strop that I recently purchased.

Bought 95 NOS Valet blades today of off Ebay for $106. Seems like a good deal.

Feather blades are very very sharp. Great in my Feather ASD2 shaver. Can be a handful in some other razors. Horses for courses.

The carbon steel blades are OK if you strop them.
