Agreed! And Sterling performance is just awesome. I'll add Local Gent California Barber to the list
I recently received the kraken from mickeylee soapworks, which is their take on the barbershop scent. it smells awesome! I also recently received some soap from Viking for the DFS movember giveaway. included was their barbershop soap, old norse. to me, that's probably my favorite "barbershop" scent I've smelled so far! smells very close to Mike's barbershop, which is another favorite of mine.

Favorite barbershop scent is a tough one. First you'd have to agree on what constitutes "a barbershop scent." I find the term to be overloaded these days, with many artisans claiming to have one or more. Honestly, there are only so many true barbershop scents. For me personally, it would probably be Pinaud Clubman as most barbershops I've ever been to (including my godfather's, and quite often at that) carried this line.
Loosening the interpretation up a bit to modern offerings... Again, tough call. Pinaud Clubman and related (e.g. PAA Clubguy), Musgo Real and Floïd are more international, Proraso even in a lot of shops these days.

I think of lavender, Fougére and powder perhaps mint/anise, when I think of a barbershop scent.
My favourite by a margin is YSL Rive Gauche, a Tom Ford creation.
Also love:
