Does Tonka Bean soap stain badger hair?

I highly doubt it. It’s nowhere near as dark as the Vanilla Safi and that doesn’t stain badger brushes.

I believe that if someone put a dye in a soap especially a red or purple it may stain a brush but I don’t think any soap makers are using dyes like some bath soap makers do.

FYI
Tomka Bean has very little color to it. Especially the Tonka Bean Butter.

I know that some of the old British cream makers used pretty heavy dyes in some of their products, such as lilac scented creams.  Those dyes would definitely discolor a brush.  I want to say it was Trumper's but it may have been TOBS that made the lilac and perhaps rose software that would stain brushes.

I haven't used a cream in a long time, and it's been even longer since I used a classic British cream, so I don't know whether they are still using those heavy dyes in their preparations.

Aside from those, I don't know of any lathering products that dye badger hair brushes, not even some quite darkly colored products like Barrister and Mann's Lavanille (which makes a brown lather) and Meissner Tremonia's Dark Limes, which looks almost black before it is lathered, but makes a nice, slightly off-white lather.  The darkest colored lather I have ever personally seen comes from the aforementioned Lavanille, but it does not stain brushes at all.  It just feels kind of weird shaving with tan-colored lather.

I finally got to use the Tribute Collection ShaveMD soap/skin food and Shavemd (Mark) would definitely approve. Like all Ethos soaps this was smooth and paired with the skin food my face is well hydrated post shave. This ginger ale scent only lacks the bubbles from "Canada Dry" and I can appreciate the lime scent - my nose is not sensitive enough for the lemon scents and the cooling was very mild. Certainly this release, now sold out, will be enjoyed by many. Thanks Frank

Thank you for the kind words AJ and I’m glad you enjoyed the soap & splash. I actually have one set left and then it will be officially sold out. The response was very good to this Tribute to our friend Mark and I’ve been asked several times to make it again next spring as it’s a nice warm weather scent. I’m definitely going to do that and Marks name will still be seen on this forum.

Kind regards

Frank

Releasing the "Tribute" every year will be an annual occasion to remember Mark. Great idea. By the way, I am really enjoying the product. Thanks again.

Nonstaining; scooped and lathered today. Very subtle scent
