But if you ever need moisturizing, the Lotion is truly amazing. I don't need it often bc of my skin type (Italian Big Grin ), personally, but a great option to have whenever it is needed. If you have drier skin, you'll fall in love immediately.

Thanks Matt for the feedback.

I’m really happy with the way it turned out. The next time I make a batch I’m going to homogenize it as I think it will make it even better in the sense that it will absorb into the skin deeper faster by reducing the particle size.

Question about tonka bean scent. Supposedly it smells like vanilla. Is it predominantly vanilla?

To my nose, there is some vanilla, but also cherry, or marzipan, and some spice or almost cinnamon. It is really well done. Nice job Frank

Hi Guys sorry for the delay but the move is pretty much an all day job right now..

Anyway in my Tonka Bean Aroma Blend there is Tonka Bean Butter which does have a predominantly vanilla note with a very, very slight cherry/note which BTW comes from the Coumarin. The homemade Tonka Bean infusion I did myself is a very smooth pure Tonka Bean note with a strong Vanilla, Carmel, Nutty and you have a pretty strong cherry/Marzipan note coming from the Coumarin. The Tonka Bean Absolute is were some of you are picking up a sort of spicy note which could be described as nutty with a little Cinnamon top note but all and all the aroma is just natural Tonka Bean as it does take you on a olfactory journey all on it's own and each Tonka Bean I get will slightly vary from batch to batch but in the end Tonka Bean has its own distinguished aroma. Because of price most Tonka Bean colognes for example are purely Aroma Chemicals. Example I was in Nordstroms and the lady behind the niche fragrance counter is a real " Fraghead " so we get along real well and are both passionate when we discuss aromas. She had a perfume that was supposed to be mostly Tonka Bean and when we investigated this $400 + bottle we found out it was all made up of aroma chemicals so no real Tonka bean and if someone had never laid their nose on the real thing they might think they were smelling Tonka Bean but believe me the synthetic leaves a lot to be desired when compared to the real thing. Plus Tonka Bean butter has some nice skin benefits to it. I ordered a bunch of new beans from both Brazil and Venezuela and as soon as I get them I'm going to start a new infusion as I plan on making it again in the future as it's been a very popular release... Oh and for those that have the Tonka Bean Shave soap, Skin Food Splash or EDP try layering other aromas over it.. it works with so many other notes. In fact my Son's fiance loves Tom Ford's " Lost Cherry " and I told her because of the bit of a cherry note in Tonka Bean it would be a perfect match up and of course it sparked her curiosity so I made her a pure Tonka Bean EDP and when she layered the two together she was like OMG now "m going to wear it like this from now on they are so well paired.

If I didnt already have a large tub of tonka bean shaving soap from another vendor who I shall not name I would have purchased a tub of yours. There is a reason why tonka bean is used in so many great fragrances and on its own its complexity really shines.

Here is some "out of the box" feeedback for Dragonsbeard regarding the ETHOS line and I was wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience.

Whenever I can I go for a several hour ride on my bicycle either alone or with friends and we all where those padded lycra bicycle shorts. This past year I purchased some high end/expensive Italian shorts. After I cycle I hit the shower and then a shave. Well after my standard 2 pass shave with an ETHOS soap I have plenty of lather left in the brush - what to do ? I take my pricey cycling shorts and jersey and hand wash them in the sink with cold water and the surplus ETHOS as the laundry machine would eventually "beat up" these cycling items. It works beautifully as the clear water gets quite dark with the lifted dirt. I hang dry the clothing in the shower and then when I wear them I smell like ETHOS - take your pick as it was whatever I had shaved with the day before.

So Frank ETHOS is not only hydrating on my face but it is gentle on thin Italian-made lycra and bicycling spandex.

Anybody else have any other interesting "off label" uses for ETHOS ?
