You make a good point on using this in a Tallow Shave Creme as we have discussed before that in a creme you wouldn't have to use so much of the Aroma ingredients as I'd be putting it in at room temperature. So a good environment for many weak EO's but Rose is not weak so it can go in a Shave Soap like the F Base and maybe a Shave Creme as well as I know a lot of folks like Shave cream.

Thank you Zack for your input.. I like to hear from members.

Great Shaves!
I haven't weighed in, but I too am a rose lover and occasional Thu-Rose-Day participant.  I'm sure that whatever you do - F Base or Creme - will be very fine, and I leave the fine points of what notes to add or leave out to people who can discuss those points better than me.  My only suggestion/hope/request is that if it is a Creme, I hope it will be soft enough to easily spread around the face - something with a lower viscosity, similar to a D.R. Harris or La Toja cream.  OTOH if it is F Base, then it's good-to-go out of the jar, so no worries.  --  Just my two cents.

Thank you for the input.

I’m hoping to put it in my F Base and still have a good strong pure Rose Aroma. Like I said I have this technique I want to try so I can keep the costs down to a reasonable amount.

I at some point would love to make a Aroma Blend where I’m using a good amount of Rose but blend in other essential oils and absolutels etc. but this one I’m going for a straight pure Rose with no synthetics in it.

Get out of the shower or wash the face as a pre shave prep. Only blot the face and don’t wet it. Mix the lather and use it on the damp face and it will create a very nice rich slick lather. I tried this method and it works great. Give it a try if you have the Tallow based Blood Orange.

Is there a method for the mixing the lather that you feel is best to optimize the properties and efficacy of this crème?

Yes as mentioned if let’s say you get out of the shower. Almost always your beard hairs are soften by not only cleansing your face but the many times the water hits your face. This is especially true if the water is hot or warm. So instead of leaving your face wet like you may do when using a shave soap. Blot your face so it’s just about dry but the beard hairs are still soft.

So what I’m saying is you can do one of two things at this stage.
1. Put an almond or half a Teaspoon size of the shave Creme in a lathering bowl and with a damp brush build  your lather and add a few drops of water as needed.

2. Or you can take some of the Creme and rub it all over the area you want to shave. Take whatever is left on your hand and work that into the damp brush and then start by painting until you get an even coating and then add a couple of drops of water and begin to swirl the brush as you normally would adding drops of water if needed and then to me it’s very important to paint.. I watched a YouTuber the other day and that’s all he did was swirl and swirl and then he literally did one pass of painting.. I would have done the exact opposite. Less swirling and more painting. Especially with the Cremes.

Also instead of rinsing between passes I found that just running my hands under the the water for like 2 seconds and then working the left over lather around again and then back to the painting with the brush. I may do a couple of initial swirls in the beginning of the 2nd pass but then right back to painting until I have a nice coating of lather on my face. If I need a 3rd pass then I just paint.

I’ve recently found that a synthetic works noticeably better than a badger when using the Shave Creme.

Of course this is not written in stone as everyone likes to do things there way. It’s just what I’ve found works best for me when using the Tallow and Vegan Shave Cremes.

Kind regards

UPDATE:

So I wanted to announce something new at ETHOS.

From now on almost all Aromas will come in a family of 4 products. So something for everyone.  In the order they appear in the photos below.

1. Shave Soap
2. Skin Food Splash
3. Revitalizing Serum for Combination Skin
4. Alcohol- Free Skin Food Lotion

I will add the Serums to existing Aromas that already have the 3 out of 4 like the Lavender Supreme and Succes and as I make others whether a brand new scent like the Sandalo Artistico below or just restocking a favorite like Fresco, Nuage de Citron or Vetivert as some examples, there will be 4 products in that scent and all will have the same label design.

The post shave serum is a new formula and the price will be lower than the current serums. Like always the prices will be based on the aroma or aroma blend so a Lavender Serum will be less than a Tonka Bean serum.

I’ve given this a lot of thought and I have also taken into consideration a bunch of suggestions and feedback from my customers.

With that said there will also be a Unscented version in the Custom Collection under Personal Blends available soon but I’ll get into that in another post as I’m changing a lot of things in the Custom Collection.

So if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

That sounds great Frank (your post 2984),  but I am confused on a few points, and others may be too.  Help me out.

Which of products 2 and 3 is the lower priced post shave serum?

What are the relative strengths and weaknesses of products 2 and 3?  What does one do, or do more of, or do differently than the other?

Same for product 4.  How does product 4 compare to 2 and to 3?

I ask because I've been confused about the product line for a while now, and my confusion has resulted in confining my purchases to mostly soap and sometimes EDP.  (I know what they do. Smile)

1. Is the new S'Wood available for purchase now?
2. Please keep offering the serum and HA in unscented?!

Good idea on the full suite!

Hi Mike

Ok so to answer a few of your questions before dinner.

Obviously there’s the Shave soap and Skin Food Splash which btw is my description of an Aftershave splash because of the many skin beneficial ingredients in the spalsh. So it’s an Alcohol based aftershave basically with ootd of goodies in it.  Gives ya that light sting/burn when first applied.

The Alcohol Free Skin Food Lotion is a very light shear lotion ( not a balm ) is not only Alcohol free but it takes the Active Skin beneficial ingredients to another level beyond the Skin Food Splash. It’s basically loaded with them. Active ingredients that not only address the epidermis layer of the skin which is the surface but also the lower Dermis layer which can improve your skin with continuous use. So if someone wants more post shave skin benefits than an aftershave splash would offer and doesn’t want a heavy shave balm the lightweight non oily but very potent Skin Food Lotion is the way to go. This is a more water based product.

The Revitalizing Serum is an Oil based Serum with many Skin surface benefits as well as adding extra protection and is especially good for those with very dry skin.  Example I tend to use more serums in the winter months than in the summer although I do use water based serum like the Hyaluronic acid serum.

I have customers that will for example use a Skin Food Splash or their Aftershave of the day and then follow with a serum wether water or oil based as they want more than just a splash can offer.

Without going into what every ingredient does which is better explained on the website many of the ingredients used in all these products offer many skin beneficial ingredients that with continuous use will improve the overall condition and appearance of the skin.

Hopefully this answered your questions.

I’m actually going to be adding an educational area on my website in the future with an added “ frequently asked questions area on it.

Kind regards

Frank

Thanks Tommy!
Not quite yet on the Sandalo.. couple of reasons..
One I’m waiting on all the labels which leads into the 2nd reason. I changed the Aroma ingredients and I couldn’t order them until I settled on the final Aroma Blend. I’ll say that in a way I’m glad because the infusion I did with the Sandalwoods and Mysore Sandalwood Chips is really starting to come alive and I’m very happy with the progress. I’ve got to get the ShaveMD set out out as that’s all made and as soon as the labels hit my warehouse I’ll be releasing that. Right after that my main focus scent wise will be the Sandalo Artistico. I will say there’s a lot more 100% pure Sandalwood ) in this Aroma Blend than what was in the old one I was doing when we first started this project. There’s a very heavy dose of East Indian Sandalwood and a small dose of real Mysore Sandalwood as I got a very good deal on some from my guy in India. It’s not vintage but it smells great.

So it could be ready in about a week to 10 days.

I have so have one obstacle. I’m moving my facility and this all came about in like two days. I’ve got to be moved by the 1st of August so I may ( not sure yet ) have to shut down the business and website for a week as I have a ton of stuff to move. So I’m going to try to get it out before that but if not I’ll have to wait till I’m in the new place to actually release it so I can fill the orders.

Thank you my friend
