Just pick out a scent that appeals to you. The scents are incredibly well-crafted, balanced and simple…made with essential oils..not industrial manufactured scents..not overly complex scent profiles as many soaps are today.
The base is absolutely fantastic..#1 in my book…
Post shave feel is incredible.
There are loads of skin moisturizing ingredients in it..
Seriously…you can’t go wrong with any choice.
If you do put it up on BST…and it’ll be gone in minutes.

Lavender: you are a racer in the Tour de France on a flat intermediate stage between the Alps and Pyrenees. It is hour 3 of a 6 hour day in the saddle, brutally hot and the peloton truculent for a win to satisfy sponsors having no chance in the mountains nor TTs. Your nasal passages are fully open and desperately sucking in air. All around you are lavender fields, the scent overwhelming and intoxicating.

Fresco: you are a bartender prepping prior to open. Your last task is to reduce a bucket of fresh whole limes to slices for quick production of drinks during happy hour. You have been cutting limes for 30 minutes and the juices are running freely on the bar

Mandarino Fumo: you finally made it to Cuba and first stop is at Cohiba to witness cigars being rolled by hand. You inhale deeply.

Vetivert: you visit a sod farm in Canada to see how it functions, workers are busy all around you rolling the cut grass mats. The owner's wife appears with a tray of iced water with lemon and limes in it

Colonia: you are at a 1960's Hollywood party. All the legends are in attendance. There is a consistent neroli smell as the biggest names pass you in luxuriant splendour. They smell every bit as classically glamourous as they look.

Dragonsbeard: you are transported into a fantasy novel from another time and another world. The surroundings resemble South Asia but even more overworldly exotic, then there is the smell in the air, a smell of magic and eternity. Oud but not of this world

Sandalwood: you wake up in the 1960s as a hippy. The period is square in the Indian revival, Ravi Shankar is playing on the turntable and the scent of genuine sandalwood is everywhere. Why not, sandalwood is plentiful and inexpensive

Tibu Subani has hardly any scent

Tonka, never smelt

Any others you want perspective on?

Bottom line not a loser in the bunch although not a fan of Peppermint nor Mandarino Fumo but that just personal preference

Great rundown.  Thanks!

I'm not a huge fan of vetiver, normally, though the addition of citrus does sound interesting.  I do like Terre d'Hermes.

I like tobacco but currently have Haverford and RR SMdF, so it would have to be different from those.

Sounds like I may have to get Dragonsbeard if it makes a return.  That seems to get a lot of attention.

FWIW. I just ordered Greenfresh. Oppressive heat and humidity right now.  I'm looking forward to that one.

Nor am I a fan of vetyver other than Guerlein but this is the absolute best ever encountered and by some way. Buy it. If hated sell to me but do get a 7,5 jar

If you really love fresh hand rolled cigars, Mandarino Fumo is best encountered by far - me, prefer classic pipe tobaccos such as Balkan Sobranie

Added a few scents to the reviews, including Geenfresh, qnd a discussion of the bases; revisit the post if you please

Cino if you like peppermint…their version is outstanding! Just 100% peppermints EO. It’s like having an AC during shaving..
BTW…with Ethos the post shave feel takes about a half hour to kick in…its not immediate. When it does kick in you won’t be able to stop yourself from constantly touching your face. It’s that good.
In addition, should you choose to keep using Ethos there’s a cumulative effect on your skin…it just keeps getting softer and nourished…

There are a few for Blood Orange, Greenfresh, and much love for vanilla and the OG, but other than that I mostly feel like I'm buying blind. If anyone could share more thoughts or steer me toward some reviews, it would be really helpful. I do get Succes, everyone knows Aventus.

Hello Sir

There are some reviews but not a lot as I'm one of those soap makers that gets a ton of feedback from my customers by email, text and phone chats but not a lot of my clients do youtube reviews, The Sharpologist aka Mark did a nice write up on ETHOS and Shave 326 on Instagram has done quite a few. Good old Dave in KY has done a few throughout the years on Youtube.

If you have any questions please reach out to me as I can give you a complete run down.

Thank you!

Greenfresh: you are with a large party at a genuine Thai restaurant, say a real deal one like the world famous NanThai in Atlanta owned by Nan Niyomkuli. Your party is seated as Nan and her beautiful daughter Dede come out to greet you carrying trays of Thai salad appetizers to get you started. As all will attest, the bases are all fantastic whether original, hard or new soft - really more a matter whether preferring lathering off the puck or scooping to bowl lather. Skin benefits and post shave are best in industry. Creme is also best creme used to date but do prefer the soaps

Thank you Dan for the descriptions...very creative.

Cino

Most of my Aroma Blends are based on natural essential oils, Resins, Absolutes, Organic plant and flower Hydrosols and my own infusions. When I use any Aroma chemicals I only use high quality Aroma Accords. Example. In the Mandarino Fumo Aroma ingredients it's a 100% naturals except for the Leather accord as there is no such thing as a natural Leather essential oil. I'm personally not a fan of heavy synthetic fragrances especially in Shave soaps as I have a hard time tolerating them anymore. I do a lot of custom work for customers as well which I really enjoy doing as I get to know my customers on a more personal level. I've made a lot of friends who I talk to on a fairly regular basis that are also customers.

So any questions please feel free to get in touch. I have a new email address on the website. Questions@ethosgroomingessentials.com

Also Thank you for your order!

DanLaw Great review of those scents. I enjoyed your perspective and skills converting those amazing scents into words. I couldn’t agree with you more (at least on the ones I have used so far)

So I just made this F Base Shave soap and it will take a few days before it’s ready to go up on the website.  This is the Tribute Shave Soap I wanted to do in memory and honor of my good friend Mark aka Shavemd who passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. This will only be available on my website as a good percentage of the proceeds will go to Marks favorite charity which is the Ronald Mc Donald House for Children.

The Collection was called the Lost Souls Collection but I woke up the other day thinking about that and it just didn’t quite sit right with me. The reason is it seems a little morbid to me and if you remember I also named a soap lost souls in memory of my ex wife who we lost last May 25th.  So that soaps name was Lost Souls but I relate to her almost daily walks in local parks and nearby forests and the scent was in line with the whole story. This soap has a different story and I’m sure their will be many more along my path of life.

So I made a decision to name the collection the “ Tribute Collection “  and for me it best speaks how I feel in relation to my fallen friend. I also have plans down the line to pay tribute to others who serve and protect like men and women in the Military, Police, Firefighters EMT’s etc. there’s also some great women and men in history that I may feel like paying tribute to so I like the thought of using this name instead of the Lost Souls Collection.

The images below still shows the”  Lost Souls Collection” but the actual labels will say Tribute Collection.

As I mentioned in my former post about the scent. I made this as a custom scent for Mark because as his Asthma got worse he was very limited to what he could use without triggering an attack. So I made him the custom Shave soap after I sent a sample of the Aroma Blend in a Skin Food splash. An wella he had no reaction to it so after I made the soap & splash for him he used it once and called me to tell me that he loved it and it was going to be his Summer Shave soap but unfortunately that was his only use of it as Summer never came for Mark. An in tribute to him that’s why I’m going with the Aroma blend he referred to as the “ Ginger Ale “ scent which is a simple blend of Organic Italian Lemon & Lime Essential oils along with Ginger Essential oil and a touch of Green Mint Absolute which in his words and my opinion creates a very clean refreshing scent that’s perfect for this time of year.

Here’s the images of the 2 products I’m releasing but as I mentioned it will say Tribute Collection on the actual labels.

I’ll post up a release date in the next day or so.

Great shaves!
