UPDATE:

So I just made this F Base Shave soap and it will take a few days before it’s ready to go up on the website.  This is the Tribute Shave Soap I wanted to do in memory and honor of my good friend Mark aka Shavemd who passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. This will only be available on my website as a good percentage of the proceeds will go to Marks favorite charity which is the Ronald Mc Donald House for Children.

The Collection was called the Lost Souls Collection but I woke up the other day thinking about that and it just didn’t quite sit right with me. The reason is it seems a little morbid to me and if you remember I also named a soap lost souls in memory of my ex wife who we lost last May 25th.  So that soaps name was Lost Souls but I relate to her almost daily walks in local parks and nearby forests and the scent was in line with the whole story. This soap has a different story and I’m sure their will be many more along my path of life.

So I made a decision to name the collection the “ Tribute Collection “  and for me it best speaks how I feel in relation to my fallen friend. I also have plans down the line to pay tribute to others who serve and protect like men and women in the Military, Police, Firefighters EMT’s etc. there’s also some great women and men in history that I may feel like paying tribute to so I like the thought of using this name instead of the Lost Souls Collection.

The images below still shows the”  Lost Souls Collection” but the actual labels will say Tribute Collection.

As I mentioned in my former post about the scent. I made this as a custom scent for Mark because as his Asthma got worse he was very limited to what he could use without triggering an attack. So I made him the custom Shave soap after I sent a sample of the Aroma Blend in a Skin Food splash. An wella he had no reaction to it so after I made the soap & splash for him he used it once and called me to tell me that he loved it and it was going to be his Summer Shave soap but unfortunately that was his only use of it as Summer never came for Mark. An in tribute to him that’s why I’m going with the Aroma blend he referred to as the “ Ginger Ale “ scent which is a simple blend of Organic Italian Lemon & Lime Essential oils along with Ginger Essential oil and a touch of Green Mint Absolute which in his words and my opinion creates a very clean refreshing scent that’s perfect for this time of year.

Here’s the images of the 2 products I’m releasing but as I mentioned it will say Tribute Collection on the actual labels.

I’ll post up a release date in the next day or so.

Great shaves!

Ok let’s have some fun!

This was a custom order for a customer of mine up in Canada and knowing him for a couple of years and his shave soap aroma preferences I have to admit I was a little shocked at this request!  This is a Bubblegum Shave Soap and Skin Food Splash.  I know a lot of your are probably saying “ No way “ would I use that and honestly I was with you on that but I just kept a little samples and just lathered it up and splashed a little of the Skin Food on and it immediately took me back to when I was a kid on a porch on a rainy day reading comic books and chewing on a Bubblegum cigar and blowing bubbles faster and faster as the plot thickened in the Superman, Thor or Tarzan comic book I was reading that day. Of course I would finish the penny candy first before putting the Bubblegum in my mouth.

Good memories and a very creamy lather which turned Snow White when lathered. Can’t wait to ship it out to my customer and I have to ask him why Bubblegum as I forgot last time we talked on WhatsApp.

Oh well here your go!  Big Grin

Hello Guys

So I’d like to talk about custom orders.

I’ve been getting quite a few lately and I very much enjoy working on them but I’ve been giving the whole process much thought.  One thing is the first contact. I get pm’s on the shaving forums I belong to. I get DM’s on Instagram, WhatsApp,  FB Message, Text messages from people that have my number, emails on my personal address and then the make contact one that’s on the website. An honestly it’s a bit much to try an keep track of it all. So I created a special email address on the website

customorders@ethosgroomingessentials.com

So from this point on if anyone is interested in a custom order please use this email to contact me as I’d like to keep all the requests and contact information in one place so I’m not searching all over the place when I need to reference a conversation with a customer.

Also while on the custom ordering subject, I’d like to talk about the basics and how the process works and the pricing for a custom order.

1. Make initial contact by email with your request.

2. I’ll get back to you by email with a simple questionnaire for you to fill in just so I can get some basic information about things like Skin Type, what you typically like and dislike in your shave products etc.

3. Once I have reviewed the returned questionnaire, we will set up a conversation by phone if your in the US or if your out of the country we can do either FB Message or WhatsApp. Whatever works best for you.
4. When we talk we will go over your request and the many possibilities, options and the price. I like to talk to my customers as many of you know as it gives me more insight and in many cases an inspiration for a custom project and gets my creative juices geared up.

5. Once we’ve agreed on moving forward with the custom project I’ll send you an invoice which you can pay by PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. This may or may not include the shipping price as I still honor the free shipping on orders over $75 as long as their in the USA. If it’s an out of the country order then I’ll send a separate invoice for the shipping costs once the project is finished, packed, weighted and ready to ship and I know the amount.

6. There are no returns or refunds on custom orders. I’ve already gotten brunt 3 times so I’ve had to put this policy into place. I’m sure you understand my position.

7. The price of a custom order is determined by the cost of the finished product at the end of the day. I factor in the hands on time it takes to make the product or products. Custom orders can take as little as a week or so like the custom order I did in the photo in my last post or it can take up to a few months. It all depends on ingredients and if I have them in stock or if I  have to order them. Also a very special ingredient can take time to source or we may have to wait if it’s out of stock at the moment.  Also if I’m doing infusions then it can take much longer as we have to wait until it is complete to even begin to make the finished product. If special packaging is requested then that’s obviously an add on to the final price.

8. I’ll continue to try and make this process easier on both of us as time goes on and I discover new ways to do so.

9. On custom orders especially if they are big ticket orders I do very much suggest adding insurance and if it’s going out of the country it’s a must of I won’t ship it. Once it leaves my facility I don’t want to be responsible for any mishaps that may happen that is out of my control such as the postal service looses a package or a package gets stolen or it’s delivered to the wrong address because the delivery person made a mistake etc. etc. I don’t feel that myself or the customer should have to take a loss so insurance is a good move and it usually doesn’t cost much to add on to the shipping costs.

My commitment to you is I’ll continue to acquire new equipment to be able to make new and even better products along with the continuous sourcing of new an innovative beneficial ingredients as well as exploring new Aroma blends and taking more online classes as my philosophy is never sit on your laurels and continue the learning process. This was a hobby that turned into a business that I really enjoy a lot!  Bottom line is it’s my passion and I’ve always loved making things!

I’ve wanted to address this for a couple of weeks now and I’m glad I had the time to do so.

Thank you and I’m looking forward to working with many of you!

Great shaves and have a super Forth of July weekend!

I'm curious how these soaps hold up in storage since they have a lot of natural ingredients. In recent years I've acquired so many soaps that I can't imagine finishing any of them, so I'd like a soap to survive years in rotation. Obviously, I don't need any more soaps, but this one has me interested. Yes, I'm weak.

I’ve only been in business for about 2 1/2 yrs so I know the soaps hold up just fine for that long as I have a few from the very first batch. I also had a layer of protection in the form of a natural preservative to not only eliminate the chance of micro bacterial action but also it will help with longevity.

Thanks for the inquiry.

Thanks for the info, I was planning on getting in touch to have a custom scent made in the next couple months.

I'm kind of surprised you've only been doing this for 2.5 years, keep it up and your only problem is going to be finding someone to hire to help you with all the work.

Thanks.  What are the notes in Fresco? I didn't see it on the website.

This aroma blend is a Lime Essential oil forward scent with a Fresh Basil and Lime infusion and a touch of Spearmint Essential oil. A simple clean refreshing scent that is timeless! No Synthetic Fragrance oils are used in this blend.

Have this soap and it amongst my favourite scents.

Do not be overly concerned re the scents beyond lime as they definitely background, particularly the spearmint, which put me off buying before a friend provided a sample.

Sure, spearmint there but one need look for it as it buried fairly deep in the background

Spot on Dan.

It’s primarily a Lime forward Aroma blend with the Basil & Lime Infusion adding a little depth. The Spearmint EO is in there just to give it a little sparkle.
