Lot to digest

Couple of questions:
Will the scent drop downs be all the same price or will they reflect the market costs?  Effectively asking if the scents fully synthetic clones of naturally occurring scents

Having very damaged and sensative skin, am glad to find ETHOS addressing the particular needs of each less than average healthy skin type with the targeted serum. Have read a lot of posts where those with good skin marginalize the needs of outliers stating unscented products are sufficient to alleviate all maladies but being so afflicted know factually it not so.  Can you expound on how they address their targeted skin type?

Appears you first to provide a Hyaluronic serum.  Are there any elements of your EOS in it making it completely proprietary?

Congrats on the new products and get the web site up!

Apologies for typos and grammar; on road mid run lunch workout

Hi Dan

So heading out the door to go to my warehouse but I'll address a couple of questions with the short version.  Almost all of my scents are natural based as I only use Essential oils, Resins, Woods, Hydrosols and infusions I make myself. If I'm going to use what some would call a synthetic it would be an Aroma Chemical which is whats used in fine Perfumes and colognes which many are sourced from natural ingredients. When using them you must formulate your own scents. These are not the typical fragrance oils you can by at online stores that are commonly used in say candle making, bar soaps and shaving products. I also work with large fragrance companies I've been using for over 20 plus years where we develop a scent together using both naturals and Aromal Chemicals. My preference is naturals and use them whenever possible and I will go into much more detail on the website on Aromas used in ETHOS products. I will price the formulas based on the natural oils used in each formula as well as the aromas offered in the Drop down menu. Example. Marula oil is a lot more expensive than lets say Jojoba so a formula containing a heavy dose of the Marula oil would cost more than the Jojoba oil. Same goes with the Aroma ingredients. If you choose Essential Lemon oil as your scent as opposed to East Indian Sandalwood or Jasmine there would definitely be a difference in price. Like I've stated many times my philosophy is my products are priced based on what's in them. So prices will vary according to that and of course market prices. In fact I just got a 16 oz bottle of East Indian Sandalwood oil from India in yesterday's mail. I've bought it before from the same supplier and this time there was a 18% increase in price from the last time I bought it from them. So I believe very much on pricing products according to what's in them.

Like I mentioned it is generally recognised in the skin care industry that there are basically 5 types of skin which are the ones I mentioned above so I couldn't put out one blend of natural oils that I felt could handle all the 5  types of skin types. A list of ingredients used in each formula will be released on the website and of course on the labels of the bottles.

I've been working on a Hyaluronic acid serum for at least 6 to 8 months and have been playing with the formula until I felt it was right where I wanted it to be. Yes there is a higher percentage of the EOS Complex in the Replenish Formula than in a Skin Food splash for example and will add a lot to the final results as opposed to if it wasn't in an already very skin beneficial formula, An yes it is a proprietary complex I developed with one of the top ingredients companies in the world that I've worked with on not only my hair care line but many other products I've worked on for other companies as well and I will be giving some general info on it once the website is up. Although I think it would almost impossible for anyone to copy the complex without very sophisticated analytical equipment I hope you can understand me keeping it as such as there is much duplicating going on in the cosmetic industry. I will provide more insight into the complex on the website.  I will say there are 36 skin beneficial ingredients in the complex  and not trying to be a smartass but can you imagine how long the ingredient list on a bottle or jar would be if I listed every ingredient in the complex along with all the other ingredients within a formula. All I can say is that would be very challenging to say the least. LOL  In face the EOS Complex is not the first Complex I've developed and I have plans to introduce  the other two I have developed in the future in the appropriate products. Those I have no problem fully disclosing the ingredients in them as they are very simple but effective complexes but I'll do that once they are in some ETHOS products already and folks identify them with ETHOS products.

Also allergies are a whole different discussion. As a person can be allergic to almost any substance out there. Fragrances are very common so one of the reasons all these formulas start out unscented. There are also ingredients that are high on the Allergic index that you can try to stay away from when developing a formula to reduce the chances of people having reactions to the product.

Hope that gives you a decent explanation to your questions and thank you Dan as I like discussing products.

Looking good Frank as we all have different skin types and since you are taking that in consideration those of us with variable skin dryness to oiliness should be nicely accommodated. I am not aware of any soap/splash maker which has been able to cover so many different skin types. Also the customization sounds like a great option as does the unscented version.

As far as the Replenish - Hyaluronic acid serum goes I know you've been working on it for some time now and I am glad you will have it available soon so we can all look radiant and youthful again. Those kids out there can still keep their looks intact with this newest release. So kudoos to you and the ETHOS line.

BTW what's happening with the website - you have so much stuff it would be helpful to goto the website and keep track of everything.

So I was asked by a few members to post up these newest products that will be released June 18th to the ETHOS Grooming Essentials line up and I'm not sure if they should go into this thread as they are all Post Shave Products but since there is no other thread on the brand I'll put the info here but if the mods think it should be moved please feel free to do so. I expect to have a vendors section very soon as my website is 90% finished and as soon as it's up my ventors section will follow shortly after.

I'll just give a brief description as there will be more in depth info on all the products on the upcoming website.

So all these Post Shave Serums are in my new " Custom Collection " and the one thing they all have in common is they all start out unscented and can be purchased that way. There will also be a variety of scents you can choose from in a drop down menu. The list will start out small and grow as time goes on. Some scents may be added or deleted if supplies run out.  The scents that are in the existing Shave Soaps will all be available for those that want to match up their post shave products to their Shave Soap and Skin Food Splashes. So as New Shave Soaps are released the scents will be added to the list. There will also be other scents that I've developed o é n the list as well as a Spearmint and a Peppermint Essential oils in case you want to add a little coolness to your serum.

The Oil based serums are all called Reméde - Revitalizing Serum and there are 4 different formulas as I don't believe that any one serum can address all the different skin types and my thoughts were solidified based on feedback I got from Wet shavers and testers I'm in contact with.  So for now the 4 formulas offered are:  Normal Skin,  Dry Skin, Sensitive Skin and Oily Skin formulas with a Problematic Skin Formula a week or two away from release.

The other serum is called Replenish - Restorative 2% Hyaluronic acid serum that gets a strong dose of the EOS Complex in it along with some other skin beneficial ingredients. The Replenish can be purchased unscented or also can be customized only because it's a water based product I'm using Hydrosols also known as Flower waters, Floral waters and Aromatic waters which are produced by distilling plant materials like flowers, fruits and plants etc. Similar to Essential oils but much milder in scent. In fact when I sent out samples to testers I just made one batch where I blended  Cucumber and Spearmint Aromatic Hydrosols which got some nice feedback from the testers. These are also found in a drop down menu.

So there you have the short story! Below are the label fronts which I thought I'd post up for you. If you have any questions please feel free to ask in this thread or in a email to me at ethosgroomingessentials@gmail.com.

I'd also like to thank all the members on DFS and Andrew for the support! It is very much appreciated!

Very excited about the Hyaluronic acid Frank and the post shave products for someone like me with oily skin.  Hopefully your website will be up soon which will really be helpful in understanding all the different products and choices you are offering.  I know you have been working on these products for nearly a year now so it is exciting to see it come to fruition.  The way you are pricing based on the cost of the ingredients I think is the fairest practice out there, and I am really glad you are sticking to high quality products.

Thanks for the feedback. Just curious did you add any essential oil blend that came with the soap?
