Essential oils and fragrance in shaving soap/creams - are they healthy for the skin ?

I prefer essential oils over synthetic fragrance oils and unscented soaps. I look for artisans with essential oils only. I have tried synthetic fragrance shave soaps but as a rule of thumb, I don’t like synthetic on my face and skin.

I generally skip anything that doesn’t have essential oils. I’d rather use natural or unscented than fake stuff.

If it has synthetic fragrance, I might as well buy Gillette foamy from a can.

Does anybody prefer artificial flavours over real flavours in their food? I certainly hope not.

Traditional British creams have some questionable ingredients as well. Do your research before buying a soap.

Lower concentration levels is the key.

I am also sticking to all essential oils hopefully with the above. I had some reactions recently with fragrance oils/aroma chemicals in some artisan soaps. They must have had higher FO concentrations and were heavily overscented.

It’s just overkill...or competition. Fragrance oils work for a lot of folks but EO’s all the way in my shave den going forward.

Precisely, I used Geo F Trumper's Rose Cream, which they said is good and mild on sensitive skin, the artificial dye and scent ingredients tore my skin apart. As much as I love its scent, I haven't used it for over a year now.
