Esbjerg vs Pannacrema Nuavia

Hey all,

I am wondering which cream or soap to get next. I currently shave with an ATT S2, using a feather blade, and a dirtybird 1.5 shave scuttle. So far I narrowed it down to the newer Esbjerg, orange vetiver or the amber cardamon, or the Pannacrema Nuavia. I prefer stronger scented soap with lots of cushion and slickness.

I was leaning more towards the Nuavia but have no idea of how the lather performs in a hot scuttle.

I wish I could be of more help but I have never tried the Esbjerg creams.

I have the Pannacrema Nuavia though and it is an excellent soap that has a pleasant scent [Blu]. I face lather and don't use a bowl or scuttle so can't comment on that either.

Get both. They are both wonderful. The PN is probably stronger scented and a little more cushion and slickness. It is also double the price but why not get both

I haven't tried Esbjerg, but Nuavia is a masterpiece.

Conclusion:

Get both, I saw the Esbjerg cream on sale for £8.50 last wekk (sold out now) - so it's rather cheaply priced for such a great cream
I own both the Nuavia's and all 5 Esbjerg creams. Top notch stuff IMHO

I even have a backup Esbjerg Verbena cream, because I bought the last one in stock at sale for £8.5 :-)

Someone on some forum commented that their lather dissipated rather rapidly when used with a warm scuttle. I had noticed that some of my soaps did the same. He suggested that he believed that the ones that dissipated quickly were tallow-based. Based on his suggestion, my own experiments, while brief and therefore not conclusive, seem to lend some credence to that idea. I have not tried Pannacrema, but I believe it's a tallow soap.

The Nuàvia twins are vegan, so no tallow.

I enjoy both, but I would give the award for the better of the two to Nuavia. The only drawback is Nuavia is astronomically overpriced, but I do have to admit it is a wonderful performer.

No problems in a luke warm scuttle. Haven't tried full heat yet....
