There is a huge box of sample soaps going around (I have it currently and am amazed at the contents).  But very few DFS members have signed up?  Why?  What am I missing here?  Fellow DFSer Dfoulk started the thread and put the box together.  Several of us have used it and none of us are dead but there is still a on of soap from a lot of artisans that someone else needs to try.  I'm the last name on the list and as such will send the box home in a few days unless one or more of you sign up. https://damnfineshave.com/thread-soap-sa...signup-now  So there is the link.  17 artisans and 103 soaps.  Why has this not taken off?  PM me if you know the answer.

I was always perplexed when the MULTIPLE pass arounds we started just fizzled out.

If I were in the US, I would have signed up. However, things get complicated shipping such a large box over the border.
I am surprised there aren't more members interested in this. However, it could be that most on this forum have found the soaps that work best for them and are not looking for more. This would be my guess.
It is great to hear you have enjoyed the pass-around.  Smile

I wondered if that might be the case for us older members but there are a lot of new members joining ranks and I sure would like them to get a crack at it.  Heaven knows I have my favorites and don't need anymore soaps but the scent journey has been eye opening!  It's fun to smell artisans takes on sandalwood or leather or .......  It's like an education for my nose without having to write a big check.

celestino nailed it for me.  Granted, I had not considered the scent angle, but I'm flush with top-tier soaps already, and I'd rather stand by and listen for whatever buzz develops. BTW I hope it is clear that no disrespect is felt for the participating vendors.  Some of them may very well be on my short list some day; just a bit later rather than sooner.  Meanwhile, I will vary my soap bases more slowly than I would as a participant, and adding stability in the kit still seems to be a smart move for me.

I'm in the same boat. Have my favorites, many of whom are represented in the box of goodies BUT there are others I wanted to try whom I don't own and haven't yet. Jabonman, Le per Lucien, to name two. It's been a kick to learn without having to shell out the shekels. And now....ill be ordering some stuff.

I love trying new soaps. But I don't typically do the pass around offerings because I have very specific interests in scents. And with so many soap makers offering samples, I just pick and choose what I want without having to worry about sending the pass around on to another person. That and I already have a fairly large selection of creams and soaps and samples to go through that I now want to start paring it down a bit. At some point too many options becomes overwhelming. Nothing personal of course.

I have not tried it but will do so now that I know that's your latest offering.  I like the scent.

Gotcha.  And it makes sense.  I know this box has been overwhelming to,say the least.  My bride has been sniffing and I have a son in town who came over to thr Big Whiff so I'm enjoying it  but 102 flavors is a bunch!
