different gillette tech razors

do any of our gillette tech experts care to show and explain the differences between the various types of techs out there?

this thread idea came about from the ebay deals thread when bakerbarber mentioned a mixed lot with a ranger tech in it. I've heard of a ranger tech before but I don't know what they look like. rather than looking on google, I thought a new thread on the forums might benefit more of us!

The ranger tech is a twist to open razor. So, that one is a real curve ball of terminology.
I believe, Gillette was building on their brand equity of the Tech name from three piece razors when introducing the solid bar twist to open Aristocrat. Which wasn't even named that until later. For descriptions, it's easier to describe though. The Ranger Tech looks like an early gold plated Aristocrat. It has some subtle differences. Like a lot of old Gillettes, without the packaging and stuff, the model names are difficult to nail down.

Edit: super speed instead of Aristocrat above. I was thinking of another razor. Ranger Tech looks like a super speed.

I tried a fat handled tech for the first time a couple of months ago. I can see why people like tech razors. Really mild, smooth and efficient.

I really like the triangle slot Tech and the Made in England versions too.

Unfortunately, for me, I am one of those folks who don't like Techs. I just don't get on with them, very well, which is a shame as they are quite lovely and plentiful.

My Fat Handled Tech is almost too mild. I had to put a Feather in it to get it to shave stubble off my face.

I get along just fine with the English Techs...Now the Ranger Tech, that is a whole different equation. The Ranger Tech was not my favorite razor, but a lot of fun to research with its undo interruption in production. I have had several pass through my den, sold them all in the end.

Anyone know which this is? The only thing printed is made in England.
