Hi,

Has anyone tried the East Egg soap from Barrister and Mann so far? I am looking to see if someone has tried it and if they can share their thoughts on it and if it is very good then only I will buy.

I am currently moving and have now realized how much difficult it becomes to transfer shaving gear.

I have one box just full of soaps! even though I tried to buy conservatively! So I now need to be very careful as the stack has grown a bit too much for me to handle.

I ordered mine from Top of the Chain. Since I'm in Europe, it is still in transit...

I get my sample in the mail tomorrow. I’ll let you know.

I received my set today. Did not use it yet, but I do not anticipate any surprises with its performance. Scent-wise I find it very reminiscent of the old school colognes and aftershaves. If I were to imagine myself being a part of a black-tie event in the late 1800s, the East Egg scent would be a perfect choice for the occasion.

I currently have vespers so I know excelsior base is damn good! But really would like to know more about the scent?

I liked vespers scent.

Samples are available on the B&M site. I think shipped it’s going to cost me $6 and change to decide whether or not I like the scent. Much cheaper than blind buying the set.

I have, it’s a sweet talcum powder like scent. The lather is wonderful! Very slick and creamy, easy to work and a joy to use. I quite enjoy it.

I just received my sample today, and did a test lather with one of my new Brushes. The Scent is very nice, an old school scent. Opulent is a good way to describe it. To me it is in the same wheelhouse as ‘Cologne Russe’ by B&M, one of my favorites.

You were smarter than me on this one, it’s a must have. I bought the complete set as well!
