I’m on a mobile and this forum is a little different than some others I’m more familiar with so forgive me if I haven’t manage to quote you wyzeone but I wanted to ask what’s up with Darkfall and Scrumtrulescent if Scott isn’t moving his scents over to Icarus. Is it just some and not others? Those considered seasonal and not part of the permanent releases? I like both of his bases but I’m trying to get a handle on this as I consider future purchases.

The core line (Original, Bandwagon, After the Rain, Cuir et Epices, Trismegistus) and all pre-Icarus Chatillon Lux collabs (Bon Vivant, Colonia Balsamica, Fourth & Pine, Gratiot League Square, La Quatrieme Ville, Pure Lavender, TSM Fougere, Unconditional Surrender, Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli) will stay in the bison base. Anything new that comes out since the release of the Icarus base, including seasonals like Darkfall and Scrum, will be Icarus. I would assume if Scott re-releases seasonals like Mayflower and Southern Paradise that they will be in Icarus this time around as well as any new releases of CL scents. La Foret de Liguest, Vide Poche and the upcoming Sni Mato come to mind. Hope that helps Badlander13.

Scott has restocked a few existing lines yesterday, along with the release of a new limited edition.

The existing soaps are still in Bison Tallow and the new LE in Icarus.

Thanks a relief.

Glad to hear he isn’t totally switching to the Icarus base.

Agreed. The bison base is my favorite soap. When I learned from Scott about his strategy for Icarus (new releases) and bison (legacy, regular releases), I stocked up with doubles and triples of some of the old stand-bys in bison. I’m happy that he’s prospering with Icarus (and with his awesome brushes), but I wish he would let a few more soap scents into the bison base (e.g., Harmony, which is as legacy as they come, and my favorite Declaration soap).

Is Scott DeclarationGrooming posting his strategy on his website? Because he hasn't been on DFS for about a year now. Its too bad because being able to interact directly with artisans is part of what makes DFS enjoyable and informative. Do you know if he's active on another forum?
Thanks

I don’t know if Scott has posted his intentions publicly. I learned by email: “I do not currently have plans to abandon my legacy base, but there will be no new releases in it.”

I also don’t know if he’s active on any of the forums. Shawn at Chatillon Lux recently posted publicly some news about a non-life-threatening health challenge that Scott has been addressing. That’s all I know.

(I hate to post these kinds of things, in part because they’re quasi-private, and in part because they’re second hand. But I trust you fine folks to understand the intended spirit.)

I appreciate the information. I really like Declaration Grooming soap and I’m always curious what’s coming down the road.

I just think Scott is so busy that its hard for him to make time for forum participation in any capacity. You all know everything that he produces and it's all by himself. His knots have become so in demand that I'm sure he has a backlog of brushes a mile long to work on for just the knotting service alone. We all wish he could communicate more but that's how it goes when the work piles up.

He does live sessions on Facebook pretty often that are full of info.
