Brett Mozingo is an awesome guy to deal with. I ordered a custom Jefferson style handle and he nailed it perfectly. Sent be pics and a video when it was done to see if it was exactly what I wanted and said if it wasn’t he’d scrap it and keep trying until he gets it. Very high quality handles and I can’t see him offering hand tied knots that wouldn’t be worth the price. I have a second order in with him as we speak and I’m sure they’ll be more.

Why are these Muhzingo comments on this Declaration Brush Handles post? Should be easy enough to comment in an appropriate post.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but from what I can tell, Peter Wolf’s “DWW-NG” shape predates the “Jefferson” shape.
I’d also bet my billfold that Simpson has turned a similar shape in their 100 year history and that they’ve really inspired the vast majority of what we see today.

Exactly. The original poster seemed to be asking about handle styles/shapes and appeared to be using Declaration shapes as a reference. Practically every handle shape we’ve have now has been done over and modified again and again through the years by practically everyone.

Even Stevie Wonder could see the differences between the DWW-NG from the Jeffo.

Quite the difference to my eyes. The Jefferson is obviously not a copy of the WW shape.

OP here. I thought I would get back with everyone and provide my own feedback on the handle shapes. I was lucky enough to add these two brushes to my den: Washington B5 and Jefferson B6.  I think I like the Washington handle best.

I'll brake rank here a bit. I think Declaration's knots are awesome but I just can't warm up to his resins for the handles. It's a personal thing I guess.

The knots are world class, the handle shapes are ergonomic but the resins are very uninspiring in my view. But YMMV
