Dave, I do appreciate the reminder of what this Season is truly about! Thank you for that. My family would sit around the table, and read the Christmas story from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. Each, no matter how old or young, would read a verse. Sometimes Grandparents would be there, other times Aunts and Uncles. But always the Bible on Christmas Eve, then prayer, then an orderly decamping to the tree, where presents were doled out one at a time by my father, while we watched the opener, and made sure thanks were given. It is a tradition I miss, being a grown up and no kids. But my wife and I were raised similar to each other, and we take turns opening.
