My all time favorite handle. I wish they would have made an adjustable with that handle. That would be my unicorn.

She usually has pretty nice stuff from the auctions I have followed. I usually watch a bunch of different auctions on a specific razor for a while to see what they are going for and then surf BST to see what I can find. The folks on BSTs are usually priced fairly and I don't like getting into bidding wars on the bay.

She does always seem to have really nice stuff.

And I do the same thing when I'm interested in something. Especially a couple months ago when I was going through VGRAD (Vintage Gillette Acquisition Disorder). Big Grin

I'm surprised it wasn't higher to be honest. That's a fairly rare razor and the condition was immaculate. I've searched flea markets and antique shops the last few years hard and found some tremendous steals like that piece for 10-20 bucks but the jig is up in most places...... Reminds me of baseball cards when I was younger what was "fun" became profitable and prices went through the roof......

I was in an antique shop in Abiliene last week for business and asked the proprietor if they had any old safety razors....

let me just say the prices were mmmm a tad egregious

Techs and super speeds 25.00 condition not good
Black beauty 50.00 terrible shape
Fatboy in box great shape 199.00 might have been never used

It sure is as I have been finding the same type of prices. It's crazy. I got rid of a fatboy in bad shape (shaved great though) a few years ago. I just started looking to reacquire one and boy have they become spendy. I decided to get an aristocrat in the meantime. I'll have to wait even longer as the wife is starting to tell me I already have too many razors already lol.

The final price on that razor was $350+
