Being a novice to what is out there and the quality of items, what would you suggest as to purchasing for soap or creams to try. Been using a cup and brush, but never really gave it much thought until I saw opinions and availabilities of all the offerings.  Have just been using drug store cakes in the past. I realize this is just like asking what is the best razor, which is subjective to the particular person, but need a little advice as to where to start.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Just realized this should be in the Creams and Soap. section. Don't know how to fix it, so can the moderators please move it or let meknow what I should do. (Yes, I know, I need to read before I post.......)

Stirling soap would get my vote. High quality, reasonably priced, and a great company. They also sell smaller sized sample pucks.

I think Ariana and Evans is a soap that gives good results in any water, and is not overly high priced (and really lasts).

I really like Grooming Dept too, but you find yourself always trying new stuff.

These two have spoiled me for sure in that I don't like to go back to other soaps I liked before trying them.

Being totally new to the genre, I appreciate your opinions and past experiences. Thanks for the responses.

I would suggest starting with a couple creams, since they are significantly easier to lather than soaps.

So many good ones, here’s a few in my rotation this summer.  Creams are really fun, fast, and easy especially hand lathering! LOVE Crabtree & Evelyn Lime in summer!

Hey Knothead:

PM me an address and I’ll send out some product to you.  I’ve been setting some nice things aside to PIF but since you stepped forward, maybe you would like to enjoy some of it?

cheers

I recommend trying this soap. It is very interesting. Decent performance. Everything is at a high level. Customer service is great. With a discount, this is a very good purchase. I like the soap of this manufacturer.

ExtraProtein, Still a few days away from being able to PM anyone. I'm new to the site. Don't know if you can PM me though and if so, if you can get me an email, I'll reply with an address. I appreciate the offer, and would love to try what you have. Thanks,
