Help!

I’ve been Jonesing for 2 things for a while.
1) Dinner with Evangeline Lilly.
2) A copper razor.

No response (So far) from Ms Lilly, but I did get a copper Carbon CX razor…one of 26 with a + plate.
(Already have a 316 stainless CX with an original plate.  The 316 stainless is a very well made and exceptional shaving razor.)

I’m very put off, however, by the machining on the copper CX.  (Photos below)
On the inside edge of the straight bar, for example, there is a very rough edge.
It almost looks like a cheap stamped piece.
The handle and top cap seem fine.
I guess I expect more from a $299 CNC machined metal razor.

My question(s)?
Am I being too particular?
I know that copper is a soft metal, Is this simply a phenomenon of copper machining?
I’d sure like to hear from others…especially those that purchased one of the other 25 of these copper CX razors…
I’m seriously considering returning the copper CX and continuing my quest.
Evangeline doesn’t take my calls anymore…

Pete

My 2c is for a premium razor that is very shoddy and I know it wouldn't be in my possession for very long and a full refund would be in my future!!

I had a similar issue with the first CX 316 I bought, a stainless razor. The bar on the plate had unacceptable machining, so I reached out to Sean and he apologized and very promptly sent me a replacement plate and a label for me to return the defective plate. You should contact Sean because I would wager he will want to make this right. He did right by me, very quickly and very politely, and I now own multiple CX razors because they’re so darn good.

That finish on the base plate does look rather shocking for such a premium razor. Definitely reach out to Sean, he will make it right.

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

As those before me suggested, get in contact with Sean. When I purchased my Cx-Ti (no longer in my den) a while back, the man was a true gentleman and gave excellent customer service from start to finish. Though I didn’t have an issue with the finished product, he was courteous and a delightful individual to speak with. Your particular product I believe was just an oversight and missed getting on the finishing wheel to clean up those roughed up edges and cuts. He’ll make it right without any hesitation….

Although it caused me a smidgen of pain…alas, I returned the Carbon copper CX.
Sean was very helpful and I’ve already received my refund.
Great customer service and a Thank You to Sean.
I do enjoy my Stainless CX and I will keep that, although I’d like to try the + plate with it.
Oh well, back on the hunt for a copper razor.
(I’m also on a quest for the perfect Key Lime Pie…)
