Nice! I've converted some coworkers but none have gone to the hobby level. They wanted to get away from carts so I helped them. To them it's just a better way to shave and have no want to expand so to speak. Part of me envies that lol, but it would be nice to have someone local to share the hobby with.

This guy is definitely finding himself in the grips of a hobby. He gets that crap-eating grin and gleam in his eye just talking about it, like the rest of us do. When I started pulling out straights from the box, I thought he was gonna need a napkin to wipe up the drool. Phrases like "I've always wanted to try..." kept popping up. When he found out that I have, use, restore, and hone straights...well...you could see the lightbulbs going on in his mind.

I told him..."When you're ready for a straight, let me know, I'll loan you one. If you like it, I'll sell it to you for a very reasonable cost, and until you are ready to learn how to hone, I'll take care of you." He couldn't stop grinning at the thought.

When I offered to sell him my Brownie set for $25, what I paid for it, he JUMPED on it. He said yes before he even saw it! Definitely a hobbyist in the making...

Of course, I will do nothing to encourage him to become a hobbyist. That just wouldn't be fair... Angel

Uh huh, Chris, and if he believes that then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell him. Tongue

All kidding aside, he couldn't be in better hands. Happy2

That's excellent, Chris! Thanks again for honing my razor for free, I've tried it once on my cheeks and it went well. I will definitely be using it here and there. Happy2

No problem! I'm just glad you are able to get some shaves from it. I wanted to get it sharp but I didn't want to go too far trying to remove the pitting. I hope it gives you plenty of shaves from now on!
