You can "antique" a bright brass CG magnum hammered using Brass Black.  Brian at CG recommended Brass Black to me and I have used it to turn a bright brass Stinger 1 into an antique Stinger 1.  I also use Brass Black to darken my antique CG when it gets a bit too warn for my liking.  I hope this helps.

My pleasure.  I use my wife's round/flat little cotton make up pads to apply the Brass Black on the metal.  Give a good application for about a minute, then rinse in cold water, polish, repeat.  I wear latex/nitrile gloves when I apply.  Brass black is not a stain.  It causes a chemical reaction with the metal to give it the antique look.  Over time, the antique look starts to wear/fade.  I then reapply the Brass Black to get the finish I like.  Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
