The Colt-Ainer jars that Maggard Razors sell are the same jars that all the new glissants are being released in. They are quite heavy (120 grams) and made of very hard plastic, if that makes sense. I think they are very classy jars, and they open and close with more ease than any other jars I have ever used.
If you bought glissant-base soaps last year (such as the latest Beaudelaire or Leviathan soaps), they were released in the thick-walled Parkway 6 oz. clarified propylene jars, which are also very nice. These jars weigh 78 grams, and the plastic is not as hard as the Colt-Ainer jars.
I really like both types of jars a lot. The Parkway jars are lighter and would probably handle a fall (and traveling) better. The Colt-Ainer jars are classier, but perhaps a little brittle, and they open and close like they were made of precision-engineered stainless steel.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
