I’ve missed on several Declaration Grooming B8 ‘Jefferson’ Brushes lately, and I wanted to see if anyone has one that they are willing to part with. I have a couple B6 Jeffo’s and a B7 Jefferson that I can offer as partial Trade and pay the difference in Cash as I know the price of the B8 has increased. If that doesn’t interest you I’ve got good old Cash, Thanks!

silly question perhaps, but you wouldn't want to just send him a handle for knotting?

Not a silly question, I just don’t want to risk a Custom Handle on a batch of Hair that I don’t know anything about. If I get one of Scott’s originals and I don’t care for the Hair, I will have an easier time moving it along as well.

Came across a post from a guy who bought two B8s at Maggards

First one he sold after lathering once....the second was off loaded yesterday or the day before.

Personally, I hope this is a good batch.

I’m hoping B8 is a good batch as well, fingers crossed.

From a post elsewhere:

"Feels like B7 when dry but with less backbone and it starting to feel more like B4 when wet now. Like B7, it gets better with each use. Minimal gel feel, if any, so far."

Edit: I was LMAO when I read that because I don't know what the hell it means. Then I found someone who explained
it more simply, it's one guy's opinion but helpful:

B1 knot had great backbone and a bit of scritch to it.

B2 was softer and had a bit more splay owing to the higher lofts and a little less density

B3 was soft at the the tip, moderate backbone and very dense...a cloud on your face...

B4 was near perfect in density and softness, for me this was the best release.

B5 is soft with moderate backbone. The brush I used had a bit of scrub. I likened it to Original Simpson Manchurian, but with softer tips.

B6 (gel tips) is similar to the B5 the tips are the same softness the B6 has more backbone.

B7 has no gel but plush, luxurious and fluffy. Good backbone with soft tips white tips.

I would agree that B8 gets better with usage. First 2 lathers the brush was a hog. The brush builds and releases a better lather after the first 2 uses. I would say the B8 reminds me of B7 without as soft a tips. It has good density and backbone like B7 and neither gel. The tips are a little coarser like B6, as B5 and B7 had extremely soft tips. B8 also reminds me of B4, but it has better density and backbone. My B4 do not gel although I’ve heard of some that do.

My experience, my opinion characteristics in the order of the brushes you listed (from anther individual) i don't agree with. The B1 has good backbone nice soft tips not much of a spread/bloom (I have 2 26 B1s) the B3 (26) has good backbone but you feel the tips (I sold mine). The B7 (28) has nice backbone nice bloom soft tip feel after 6 latherings. All my Declaration knots are in Elite wooden handles.
