There's nothing at the moment, but that does not mean it won't be. Just that no plans have been made yet.

Really stoked about the WK collab on YRP Big Grin

Bummer! Yeah, I will probably do another run of it, but probably not until the spring. I scheduled this release before the opportunity to move came up, and this transition combined with a bit of a toner renaissance lately made it go much more quickly than I anticipated. I will, however, be sending some aftershave and salve to Canadian Blade Co.

Hi Shawn, hope you are enjoying your weekend. I just want to thank you for providing the recommended pairings on your website. This is great for someone like me with no sense for scents. I like it for two reasons- First reading  scent notes and descriptions don't always help me but when I see soaps that are listed with it (be it apples to apples or just complementary) helps me out. Second it gives me assistance with my existing stock and what works together.

Do you plan to keep this updated going forward?  Do you only lists soaps that you yourself have used or are you able to make these calls due to your gift for scents and just reading what the soap manufacturer has provided?

I know Rose Santal was a limited release but since you do offer it as EDT any chance pairings for it will find its way onto the list. Of course you could just decide to make it a permanent AS offering.  Big Grin

Thanks Shawn

That sounds great, I'm a patient man and knowing it'll come around next spring is good enough for me. And if I can get the AS at CBC thats even better. Not exactly clear whats up with the toner renaissance - I love the toner and use the AS mainly in the summer but it always seemed to me that the AS outsold the toner. That was definitely my experience when I was soliciting orders for Blackberry Blossom Bay, more people wanted the AS than the toner for sure. Do you think its a permanent shift?

Oh, well don't get me wrong. The aftershave still outsells the toner exponentially. I just made stock levels based on past sales trends, which means I still made way more aftershave.

Thank you! I do enjoy the feature, but at the same time I just haven't had time to keep it updated. The majority are pairings that I have tried or had suggested to me. Unfortunately, with the big move and investing in new equipment, I've been on a bit of a buying freeze, which means I haven't tried a lot of the new stuff out there.

However, one helpful resource is TryThatSoap.com, where you can search by a note. So if you wanted to find a pairing for Unconditional Surrender, search for soaps with amber in them, or if you wanted to do Gratiot League Square, probably soaps with pipe tobacco, leather or sandalwood. It's a great site and honestly is the tool I used for the last update of the list: just searched each note, looked for other soaps that contained other complementary notes, and then added them to the list. Not to toot my own horn, but looking at a scent list I think I can get a pretty good idea of how compatible it would be, so if you have any questions definitely ask!

Hi Shawn, I was wondering if you've changed your Fourth and Pine formula since the first release last year? I'm finding my way to the bottom of the first bottle I got from the initial release - and you may have heard me mention how much I like it once or twice - I got a fresh bottle of the F&P AS from Canadian Blade and I notice it has a much more distinct citrus scent to it than my old stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love it too. Its almost like a different scent which is great apart from the fact that once the old stuff is gone, that particular version of F&P will be gone too. If its not a tweaked formula then is it possibly ingredients sourced from a different supplier? Or could it be the passage of time acting on the scents? As I said, its all good, I'm just curious.

I hope all is well and you've settled into your new digs comfortably.
Cheers,
Mark

I'd imagine it's the different scents aspect. As I've grown I've tried to reinvest money in buying better scent components. You can get good citrus EO for a decent price, but you can also get really nice citrus EO for a heftier price. The formula is the same, but the components are better. Definitely a big motivator is trying to ensure scent stability over the long run (not that I'd ever had a problem that I had heard of, but it's good to be proactive) and get a richer smell. Specifically, high quality neroli can be super expensive, but it's one of my favorite scents and I love splurging on the good stuff. Also, better yuzu and orange oils, as well. It definitely makes the citrus a little bit bigger, that's for sure.

Thanks Shawn, I haven't met a Chatillon Lux that I didn't like - they're all great, even the discontinued Tea Tree RoborantSmile
