I only have brass Gen 1 DC with hammered handle. It is an excellent razor, but I don't like brass, and lately the razor was plated rhodium by BackRoadsGold.
Now, it is the most beautiful razor I have ever had. Hope CG keeps making amazing razors.

Congrats...that is a beautiful razor!  Is it a Level 1, 2, or 3?

Wow.... that’s absolutely beautiful! You’re seriously making me consider this service for one of my Gen 1 Charcoal razors. Can I ask was this the antique brass or bright finish brass? Also, if you don’t mind, what was the cost? Like I said, I’m interested in this.

He can replate the razor either antique or bright. His service takes around 2-3 days, I paid $75 + sales tax (shipping included):
Mine was antique but I polished it to get bright finish, used for a while.

CK89 That's one nice razor you got plated in Rhodium. I have used Chris at BackRoadsGold for several years and his results are flawless, prices fair and he's a wonderful resource to chat with. He's done several vintage Gillettes for me and I've gifted several with many happy results.

Rhodium appears to be a popular metal for plating razors. Why is that? (I know nothing about plating).

Rhodium is more durable, and looks shiny and whiter than others.

I attached a RazorEmporium link, so you can get more info about plating razors:

Hey all, for those interested there appears to have been a fresh drop of SS razors on the CG website. It also appears that he’s dropped a few more handles.
