Just got an email from Brian and here is some of what he said.....

right now there are no leads for a commercial space for my business, so the plan will be to move any remaining equipment into storage around october. Hopefully I'll locate something by February, but Charcoal will probably go dark for about 5 months. just no way around that. the new house is so small there isn't even room for a home office!

I've already sold my prized CNC lathe (machine that makes the handles)

I'll probably do a liquidation sale of the remaining brass/copper handles in september. I'm hoping to machine more of the everyday razor heads in stainless, but I won't have stainless handles for them. no lathe to make them. Things are changing very quickly so if you ask me again a week from now plans will have changed again.

The Everyday razor arrived yesterday afternoon and I will get a shave in with it later this morning.  The razor is "head-heavy" and I may need to use a heavier handle with it.  But for now, I'm going to use the handle it came with.

Looking forward to getting your review. The handle appears to be the same as the handle on the ss lvl 2 which I recently got from his site. The handle is hollow SS, and the weight is similar to what a Ti handle would weigh. In my case, I prefer lighter handles / head-heavy razors so it works for me.

First shave is in the books (well, spreadsheet, not books).  I only had one day’s growth which, for this razor, is exactly what you should have Smile. Used a fresh GSB blade and one of my favorite artisan soaps, Shannon’s Soap (Lakeshore Drive).  Did a 3-pass shave with clean-up and was able to get a near-BBS shave.  Obviously, writing a review based on one shave isn’t the best way to review a new razor so I will just give some initial thoughts.

The shave went extremely well.  The angle was easy to find and there is minimal blade feel.  I was able to quickly and easily put the razor on cruise control and had no fear of biting.  This is a big plus in my book because, as a daily shaver, there are many times I need the shave to be completed more quickly.  Having a “cruise control” type razor allows me to do so.  The razor was easy to maneuver and easily got to areas under the nose.  The shave reminded me a bit of the WCS Lithe and I will need to compare the two in the future.

The main test for me with any new razor is the ATG pass on the upper lip.  The Everyday did great.  It was smooth, but not as smooth as the 6S plate 4.  Still, I was able to do the ATG on the philtrum which I can’t say that for many razors I’ve tried.  There have been many razors I wouldn’t dare try doing an ATG pass on that part of the lip but there was never a fear of doing so with the Everyday.

Overall, the shave was good.  IMO, Brian set out to create a daily driver razor and he definitely accomplished his goal!  It gave a near-BBS shave and did so with no irritation.

My only “con” with the razor is the weight of the handle.  I like the looks of it but I didn’t realize it was a hollow handle.  Somehow I missed that in the description or within this thread.  I really prefer a heavy handle and this one almost seems like it’s aluminum because of the weight and what I’m used to holding.  In hindsight, I may have ordered the brass razor instead just for the weight.  But I am very pleased with the performance and I have a couple SS handles around that I can use with the Everyready.
