This razor was being discussed on another thread, but thought it might be better to start a separate thread for this razor. I just had my initial shave with the Everyday razor, and I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient it is. I was concerned that this razor might be too mild for my tastes, but I'm glad that is not the case. I like efficient razors and this one did not let me down. I had no problems getting a BBS shave even on my toughest spots. Blade feel is barely there, just enough to let you know there's a blade in it. It's incredibly smooth also. Feels like it's impossible to cut myself with it.

I dare say that I like this razor even more than the Gen1 Level 2 I had. I don't find it much less efficient, if at all (going by memory since I ended up selling my L2).

As with all of Brian's work, this razor is beautiful. Love the base plate and top cap design!

On a separate note, I was very critical of the "New" handle, but I have to say that it's grown on me Smile

I saw the email and both brass and SS were in stock but I just couldn’t pull the trigger once I read it was on par with the level 1. Your review has me rethinking this!

That was my concern as well, but ultimately decided to buy it since only a few were available. I figured it was a relatively safe buy.
I would still wait for more review from others. Others might find it milder than I did. Another thing to keep in mind is that I also always stretch my skin when shaving, so that helps me get a closer shave.

CG Level 2 Latest Gen base plate - CG level 2 first gen  - CG Everyday

Just wanted to share so people can compare the dimensions. The Everyday razor is a lot smoother and the rinse channels are an upgrade not that the other had anything wrong but it is an improvement.

I'm pleased to see so many enjoying the tremendous razors made by Brian at CG. I have to confess that I'll likely never buy another, as the three first generation Level 3s in brass are the finest and best-performing razors in my rather large den. He's a tremendous artisan, and a great guy, whom I'll miss when he moves out-of-state, though our in-person plans have always been foiled. Buy with confidence.

Everyday is a good razor, it is efficient enough to get BBS shave, and never pull hairs.
Like all of my Charcoals, I need to decide what plating I want for everyday.
Gen2 (Lv2 Brass and Lv3 Steel) has 24K gold plating, Gen1 (Brass Lv2 and Lv3 DC) has Rhodium plating, I may get Rose Gold or Black Nickel for Everyday.
I don't have any plating experience, but thinking to get this kit:

Has Brian announced another round of production for the Stainless Everyday Razor, or is this sold out forever?

I Posted this on another thread:
Just got an email from Brian and here is some of what he said.....

right now there are no leads for a commercial space for my business, so the plan will be to move any remaining equipment into storage around october. Hopefully I'll locate something by February, but Charcoal will probably go dark for about 5 months. just no way around that. the new house is so small there isn't even room for a home office!

I've already sold my prized CNC lathe (machine that makes the handles)

I'll probably do a liquidation sale of the remaining brass/copper handles in september. I'm hoping to machine more of the everyday razor heads in stainless, but I won't have stainless handles for them. no lathe to make them. Things are changing very quickly so if you ask me again a week from now plans will have changed again.
