Can I get some JabonMan/Eufros Tallow Soap review?

Hmmmm, I would say the Fougere I have is about 4.5 out of 10 when lathered, wish it was stronger as the scent appears to be extremely well done.

Just arrived, the latest addition to the premium tallow range....Brisa de Oriente.

The myrrh used in this soap is from a different supplier to that used in previous veggie versions, and the soap is slightly sweeter. Very nice.
Strength is rate at 3-4 out of 10 from the tin. It could do with a little more, IMO.

With reference to earlier reports of weak scent in Fougère, I also received a tin from the latest batch and I have to agree with others. Mine is extremely weak. I've sent Manuel an email regarding both.

Also received, a sample of tallow Rosa Bourbon. Strength is wonderful, but Manuel will not be releasing for another month or so.

Is anyone else having issues with their tallow v2 soaps not lathering?

I require assistance gentlemen.

I recently acquired Eufros Tallow Fougère and Tobacco from Manuel. I have now used each once.

Each time I had issues with the lather. I am an experienced face latherer. I have not had these kinds of issues with lathering a soap since I was a noob.

I soak my badger brush for a few minutes. I give it three good shakes like usual. I load the soap for 30 seconds like usually do with all my soaps. It doesn't seem to be getting a great proto lather going. Just kinda sticky but not a great fully loaded brush. I add a bit of water and load for another 10 seconds. I mean I want this soap to last more than 30 shaves, I don't want to go crazy here.

I went my face and start painting. After an even application I then start adding water a few drops at a time. Usually with all my other soaps after a minute of this I have great lather. But with this soap, it just kinda gets more thick and greasy, and never actually lathers up. No bubbles at all. So I keep working the brush. Still nothing happening. I add more water. It just gets more runny.

WTF am I doing wrong? Anyone with experience with Jabonman, could you help?

I want to love these soaps, the post shave is great and the scents wonderful.

These are the v2 Tallow btw.

A quick update. I used the Fougère V2 this morning and the scent on the face during lathering was definitely more pronounced. I'd say 5 out of 10 in intensity. Not as strong as the V1 soap, but, nevertheless, quite prominent. From the tin, it still smells weak. Interestingly, the scents, to my nose are different. The V1 is not your typical Fougère scent and whereas I would normally use Proraso splash with a Fougère scent, I typically use Floïd Blue AS with the V1 soap. I took the Floïd to the bathroom this morning, but had to change to the Proaso after lathering the V2. I agree with Avnish on another forum that this soap has a greener coniferous scent. I was intending to finish the V1 before switching to the V2, however, there is sufficient difference (to my nose) to warrant using both formulations in rotation. This is clearly down to a change of supplier that Manuel has had to go for.

Zac, I haven't tried that soda, but if it helps, there isn't much of a change from the veggie scent. Only the scent in the tin is less strong than I know of old, however, from my experience with the Fougère (see above), it should intensify during lathering.

Tim, this comes as a total surprise. I've only seen one other person on another forum who was struggling when using a sample, yet when he received a full tin, all was OK.
This V2 version does have reduced coconut oil and more tallow compared with the first batch he made(V1). Whereas with V1 I can start with either a damp or wet brush and achieve good lather, I do find V2 benefits starting with a drier brush. I don't soak brushes, but merely hold them under a running tap whilst the sink fills, then I swish the brush in the sink for 10- 15 seconds. I squeeze the brush, dip the tips in the water, a slight shake, and begin to load. I usually repeat dipping the tips a further 2 or 3 times. Total loading time is around 30 seconds. I then scoop the remaining proto lather off the soap and add it to the brush. I wet my face, use swirling motions to mix the proto lather with the face water, then I use paintbrush strokes to thicken it. I generally find I need to dip the brush in the water a coupe more times and repeat the swirling, followed by the paintbrush strokes.
I do try not to thoroughly rinse my face before relathering for second and third passes as I don't want to add too much water to the mix.

I now have 8 different scents, all in V2, and don't have any issues. In fact, after seeing your post, this morning, I used the V2 Fougère that I received yesterday. It all went flawlessly.
