Any opinions welcome on tobacco!  I've been enjoying Jabonman soaps again recently as I put Sierra and Lemon back in rotation for spring.

I find Manuel's Tallow Tobacco extremely nice! It is a very prominent scent strength, 8/10, but in a very lovely way and not as 'strong/pungent' as Terra Humeda.
The Tobacco is a floral/flower scent with quite a bit of sweetness, but not overly as it is very well balanced. Shy
I absolutely love it.

I should have disclaimed the questionable nose that sits on my face. The three soap scents I have that are described as "tobacco," PAA Cavendish, Eufros Tobacco and Tabac, are three completely different scents. As a former pipe smoker, I would describe Cavendish as the scent you get when you open a tin of fresh cavendish pipe tobacco, peel back the accordion paper and take a big whiff. Tabac is floral. Eufros is vaguely reminiscent of tobacco (more of the cigar variety), with a hint of sweetness, but otherwise hard to identify. I love all three.

Was in Spain recently and brought along some Jabonman. Ended up placing an order on my return which just arrived today.

Really thankful for all the samples as I was especially curious about a couple of them.

Standouts to my nose are the fougere and tobacco which are both beautiful scents.

Super-fast impressions:

The fougere is excellent with maybe a little mint or something that gives it some zing. Really top notch and the smell is noticeable while shaving.

The tobacco is floral but not cloying with heaps of sweetness which lends your mind to cured tobacco (but different.. but I think this is where the idea of depth came from).

Gea is the mature version of the oriental scent. Doesn't have some of the same high notes but definitely related. On the line on this one, not a bad scent at all but not sure if it's one I'll reach for often.

Sandalwood seemed really weak to me, especially after nosing the others first. Once cleared and just cracking the lid to get a concentrated scent I can smell sandalwood and wet stocks. Not entirely unpleasant but I'm inclined to sell it unused.

Agarwood as others have said is too raw and primal to be anything but a novelty.

Dama Noche is a super-strong floral scent. Not my thing.

Oriental as mentioned above differs noticeably from Gea with striking top notes but I'd have to say I liked Gea more.

Ylang Ylang was a sickly pungent version of it's namesake. I didn't like it.

Opening a stale thread, I know.

Would someone explain what the Eufros name is about? Is it Manuel's branding of tallow soaps or what?
I'm confused.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's just his latest and greatest formula. A lot of people have been posting about Eufros without mention of Jabonman which is probably leading to some confusion that he's rebranded or something. Indeed, as far as I know all Eufros formula soaps contain tallow.

As far as I have understood it Eufros is the brand and JabonMan is his nick on the Spanish shave forum. In the beginning they were probably used interchangably. Now everything is branded Eufros and there are both tallow and vegetal soaps.

I know I'm late to the party but can anyone tell me how you go about ordering soap from Manuel the Jabonman?
Thanks,
